I was bamboozled with these today. Does anyone have a tip from school to help me remember which is which?

When a child is ABDUCTED she is taken AWAY from her parents....

When you ADD something. You are putting it TOGETHER...

LOL -- yep, you beat me to the punch. That is exactly how I learned it! :D

Dean Vaughn ROCKS!!!!

Ditto! A study hint I used:

Why shouldn't you thrust out your thumb to hitchhike: You could get abducted

;)

I was about to post that too! That's how I remember it.

Thanks a lot Sunnygirl! I've never heard that, but I'm sure I won't forget adduct and abduct again !!

I always think "ab" as in "abnormal" - away from normal. But that's just me. ;)

If I were you, I'd try to get a mnemonic or trick for one down and not worry about the other; once you get one, the other comes automatically.

Good luck!

That's how I remembered it too, sunnygirl!

And here I thought I had made it up all on my own!

I always remembered it by thinking that in abduction, the "b" faces away from the "a" and in adduction, the "d" is toward the "a"...
