A&P Book

Today I stopped by my school bookstore to find out what book I needed for my A&P class this summer. I wanted to buy it online (used) so I don't have to pay almost $100 used from them. Well I can't find it anywhere on-line. I knew I should of went and found out the ISBN number. My question- have any of you heard of this book?

Human Anatomy & Physiology 5th edition publisher- Prentice Hall

If I don't find it soon, I'll just go back to get the ISBN #.

Does anyone have tips for this class? Should I buy the study guide, the coloring books, the flash cards? What site do you think has the best prices for these items?

Here are a couple of links for you.....(We used Hole's Human A&P by McGraw Hill, but i'm sure it'll still work for you) They have interactive flash cards, crossword puzzles, outlines, and quizzes. I really like both of the sites (still using them everyday to study b4 first semester of Nursing school starts).

Good luck!

Hi,

I am just finishing A&P I. I too used Holes. I also used the mhhe site VERY MUCH! I liked quizing myself to see what I still needed to study. I bought the coloring books and flashcards, but never used them. I don't know if I will use them in A&P II or not. If not, I guess I will list them on ebay. tee hee.

As far as tips go for the class, the best advice I can give is Study EVERY DAY! Don't put it off, or you will be sorry. If you look over your notes every day, when it comes time for the test, the info has to be in there because you have read it over 100 times. tee hee! I was also participated in a study group. I found this helpful, but most helpful was studying every day.

Best wishes to you,

Jenny

Do you know who the author is? Would you recognize the cover of the book if you saw it? If so, can you describe it? The best web site to compare prices is

You can always use the extra goodies that go with most courses. I love the study guides that go with most of the courses, it really puts the information together nicely. I haven't found a ton of use for the coloring books. I just really didn't have the time.

I hope you find your book. I didn't use that book myself.

Have you tried searching prentice hall's website. You should be able to find out the isbn there, I would think....

Here are a couple of web sites I've used for textbooks:

http://www.varsitybooks.com

http://www.bigwords.com

also go to the walmart.com into the back to school section under textbooks. Try also amazon and ebay. Textbooks are oh so expensive. I usually buy used and keep them.Good luck, Berta

That's the problem - I've never seen the book. My school has totally redone the whole bookstore to where we have to go to a counter and show someone our schedule and they go and get the books. The info I listed in the original post was what the cashier gave me off a list of all the classes and books. It didn't list author or ISBN #. I guess I'll have to go back and make them take out the book so I can copy all the info down.

I even went to the prentice hall website and could not find a A&P book at all.

Thanks, everyone, for all the suggestions, I really appreciate them.

The colouring book really helped me w/the Anatomy part, but there was no hope for the physiology for me.

Good luck!

Cynthia you'll just have to ask to see the book, I have done that before. In some ways I like the new bookstore cause then Im not searching all over to find my books but Ihate it overall cause then you dont know what books (without asking) are just optional, etc. One guy who was working there (who looks like Gene Simmons from Kiss it was weird) just had no clue about ANYTHING I wasked him....lol

Physiology I have not had yet but for my Anatomy class I have loved the coloring book and my teacher uses it as well to help teach. Who is the instructor? Is it Ingram? My sister had her for A&P

Marilyn

Marilyn, I don't know who the instructor is yet because my schedule just says 'staff'.

I was thinking that I may get the coloring book and make some copies of it to color along with my kids - a way to study and spend time with them at the same time.

Looks like I will be heading out to the bookstore tomorrow. I want to hurry up and order it online so I don't get it too late.

Cynthia

Let me check my book at home. I think I might have the book you're talking about. If so, I'll post back tonight with the ISBN. The cover has a picture of a girl playing soccer (i think). When does your class start?
