I have recently began working in a clinic and am finding people coming in with the strangest (and grossest) complaints. What are some of the weirdest/grossest/greatest things you have seen the human body do?:eek:

I had a pt suffering from constiation so he was doing GoLytley. Well, he had a BM that was so large, it basically took up the ENTIRE bowl part of the toilet. Picture poop instead of water, that's what it was like. And not runny poop...thick poop! We didn't even attempt to flush it; called facilities instead, LOL! :anpom:

Constipated male ortho patient, 5 days post op, no BM.... Tried MOM+warm prune juice, nothing, suppository, nothing, told him i'd give him an enema, he said: " get a hose up there, do what you have to do, just get that sh!t out!" he passed a log.... The size of his fore arm!

While treating an outpatient for a pressure ulcer 3 days/week, I removed the dressing one day to find the coccyx was missing in action. I had her go home and look under the couch cushions, her car seat, etc. She did have osteomyelitis in the bone and I figured one day it would crumble. But her dressing was intact! That was 3 years ago and it's still a mystery.

Obese Lady said she was itching under her breast, just to find out she had pieces of potato chips all mushy and weird looking under the folds!

Sacral wound vac filling up too fast, day shift had changed it, I take a look at it, it was suctioning diarrhea (cdiff) right onto the wound!

He double bagged his plunger, raised it in the air like it was his sword, looked at me, gave me a "I'm going in!" nod, and off he went. I was dying of laughter, felt so bad cause I think the pt could hear me but I couldn't stop. I felt like a teenager, LOL!

One day I came down and found my mother ( who could not fill her hands and i was a little not there ) had cut out / around all the tendons in her. Fingers . She yells watch this and she closed her hand and you could the tendons poping out of ther hand . I went and got sick

I had a patient when I was a fairly new nurse who had gone into SVT. While we were waiting for another nurse to bring in the adenosine, the charge nurse asked the patient to bear down like she was having a bowel movement. It wasn't bringing down her heart rate the least bit, but she kept trying and then her eyes got HUGE and she pointed down between her legs. Her face was as red as a tomato. I pulled up her gown and see this huge round pinksh object sticking out of her lady parts.... Turns out it was her uterus. Now I understand the concept of uterine prolapse, but at the time it certainly seemed like a medical emergency more dire than the SVT!!
