Well gang, it's official! I start the rn refresher program in Dayton, Ohio on January 13th at the same hospital I was born at! I"m so excited, I've been grinning so hard my cheeks are starting to hurt...but the hurt is GOOD because I am going back to work in a career field that I have always dearly loved...nursing! Ahhhhhhhh....it's so refreshing to have been given this blessing right at Christmas!
I will be traveling alone by car very early this coming Saturday morning to my daughter's in Indy where I will hang out while preparing for my transition back to being a Buckeye once again after soooooooo many years away! Indianapolis is only an hour's drive from where I will be working, so spending Christmas and New Years with my daughter, son-in-law, and seven grandkids will be plenty of exercise for me to prepare me for the halls of nursing again!
Please pray/send up positive thoughts for me to have safe travels this weekend! I've waited five long years for this gift of returning to nursing, and now it's finally here! :)
I'm looking forward to enrolling at Wright State in their RN-BSN program by Fall 2003 (I found out that I can't start before that time frame unless I take their online RN-BSN course which starts twice a year...in the spring and the fall).
Well, I just wanted to share my wonderful blessings with my Allnurses siblings!
Karen, Badbird, Brenda and recnurse1......thanks for wishing me well in my new adventures of re-entering the nursing field. It's the BEST news I've had in a very very very looooonnnnnnggggg time!
recnurse1......let's just hope and pray Mother Nature cooperates this weekend until I have arrived at my destination. I luv snow, but driving long distance in a snow blizzard aint what I like about it at all! I'll take my time, stop when it's no longer daylight, and stay overnight at a hotel before continuing on early the next day.
My husband went and got me a cell phone today so I would have it in the car in case of emergencies. He changed the oil in the car, had the tires checked, changed the filter, and cleaned out the car, so the car is ready.
I've been packing personal items to take with me, and he'll mail me what I can't take in the car. I've been online apartment hunting all week long. I hope the search for an apartment will go smoothly, too.
Karen......is Ted making an Allnurses video of all of us who have met, etc.? If so, how neat! I haven't developed our photos yet that I took with my camera, but will post them once I do. I thought I would wait until I get settled in my "new home" there in Ohio, then post them.
Nighty night all! Chat with ya tomorrow! I'm pooped from all the packing! :kiss
