working with two staffing agencies together?

i was just wondering if you can work with two medical staffing agencies together? will there be a problem?

Depends on the agency, some agencies have overlap in facilities and therefore you have to sign a non compete agreement and cannot work for another agency while employed with them. Most staffing agencies require recent experience as a nurse.

Many people work with more than one agency. It is acceptable to most and is expected. It is up to you to keep your boundaries. Bad form to call off an assignment when you get called by the second agency for a better paying assignment. They will get on to you fast for pulling that one. Best rule is to stick with the assignment that you receive first. It is even possible to work for two or more agencies and not let each of the agencies "know" about the others by just not being "available". It can be a bug in your ear with some if they find out you are with another agency and they will make it difficult for you.

From personal experience I know that there can be bad blood between the two agencies. One may want the "body" more than the other and might be naughty in how they go about trying to make that happen. The consequences can be detrimental to the employee. One can even end up not working for any of the competing agencies. Then there you are!

how about if i decide to leave an agency, can i work for them again in the future?

You can work intermittently for most agencies. Just let them know that you won't be available for a period of time, and you will call them when available again.

Sure, as long as you leave on good terms and let them know that you may be contacting them in the future. You can even keep your employment 'active', by accepting a shift here and there. With some agencies, one shift in 90 days is required to remain active.

I work for two agencies. They both know about each other. I have patients in the same buildings.. This is the different one job is sat- mon and the other tues- Friday
