Why can't more MD's think like this??

  1. I thought this was a great article written by an MD. Too bad more of them don't feel like this.

I hope I did this right and the link works

I think I love that man . I'm printing it out for work; think I'd like to slip it under the physician's lounge door as well as Administration.

I too wrote a thank you letter to Dr. Greenberg. Here is his response.

Thank you for your wonderful letter. I've been overwhelmed with positive responses from around the world. Please visit my website below. I've written a sixteen page booklet for patients that will help them "humanize" their doctors. If you like it (and if you liked the column, you'll love the booklet) I could use help in letting people know it exists. It's free and downloadable from the website. Please let your colleagues, friends, patients, and family know so they can download their own copies and help bring more humanity back to the healing professions.

Oh well, I'm a little disappointed mine's the same letter. I guess in his defense he may have gotten too many e-mails to respond to individually but I would have preferred something more personal.
Oh well I still like the way he thinks.

I, too, sent Dr. Greenberg an email thanking him for the wonderful articles he writes about nurses. He is definitely my kind of doc!

I admire this MD for the simple fact he didn't come in the profession with an ego. Or "I am God complex". He was being realistic about his fears and what nurse wouldn't wan't to help anyone who is in need.

I remember when I worked as a Unit secty and the Midwives had to teach the residents of delivering babies. It was this one male resident talk about and arrogant know it all. He didn't listen he did things the way he wanted! You knew right off the bat he will not be well liked by any staff member.

I think all students that go through medical school should be a nurse for a certain amount of time to get the feel what we really endure in our profession.

Darn, I wish more MD's were like him. :-)

I wrote to Dr. Greenberg also, and got the same autoreply. Kind of disappointing, but oh well. Maybe someday he will really read our letters!

I emailed him and didn't get an "autoreply". He actually seemed very appreciative of all the emails.
