Who Interviews nurse aides?

Nurses General Nursing

I'm planning on cold calling some Nursing homes to gain an interview.

Therefore, I need to know who to ask for when I call.

Can someone tell me who is responsible for interviewing STNA's/CNA's (Nurse Aides)?

I can only answer from my experiences..the DON was in charge of interviewing and hiring of CNA's

Thanks. However, I am not able to recall... what does DON stand for?

I heard the term "DON" used many times in STNA classes but that was a year ago. I'm having trouble recalling.

DON = Director of Nursing

DON = Director of Nursing

Thanks so much.

The staff development nurse does all of our interviewing for these positions

Specializes in ICU.

Call the general number listed and then ask if you can speak to someone about Human Resources. Even if they don't have an HR department, the office person should be able to forward your call or at least give you the name and number of who you should contact about potential employment even if they're not available right then.

just ask who does the interviews for cna's, it's gonna differ from place to place.

You could try walking in and asking for an application. When I got my job at a nursing home I walked in asked for an application, the recptionist asked if I was certified and then called the owner and he interviewed me on the spot and I was hired

Either HR, the DON, or staff development. Honestly, depending on how desperate they are, you may get an interview that day.
