Recently diagnosed with periodic limb movement pretty severe. Does anyone know what meds are used to treat it? Currently MD is trying me on flexaril(2 wks). Not working, hubby feels it is even worse. I dont know but I sure feel beat up when I get up now more than before the flexaril. Can anyone give me some input on this?

I went to Sleep Disorder .org., and they mention enough stuff of a physiological nature in causation to warrant a thorough physical. have you done this? Also, have you been to a sleep disorder clinic? Sorry to ask such rudimentary questions~~~just wonderin~~

I have RLS which isn't the same however. My RLS abated when some meds were changed. This e-medicine site seems pretty good.

~~Nice site~~thnx!!

P-RN what meds are you on for RLS, my mom has it pretty bad, they finally started her on sinemet, which seems to help, unless she has a particularly hard day at work, of course, she works in a hospital. Just wondering what works for you.

Thanks

Had sleep study done at local hospital. Seeing a family dr not a specialist. Also have RLS none of it seemed to start until a couple of yrs ago. Thanks for the responses.

I take 800mg of Motrin for RLS and it works great!

I don't know anything about it, but I will direct you to a good support site for all kinds of sleep disorders.

There are forums for many sleep disorders, and I found great support and learned a lot from reading the archives when I first started CPAP for sleep apnea.

hoolahan, Thanks so much for that site. Very helpful!

Right now Im taking nothing FOR RLS , but I was on Baclofen and Neurontin for neuropathy in my legs. When I got off these the RLS stopped. So I don't know which was causing it.

When I say I take nothing, that's an understatement I take a LOT of stuff (~ $400/mo in CO-payments)just no longer Neurontin and Baclofen.
