If you're contract or PRN, then yes. The rate is often higher when benefits are not offered. However, if you're talking about something like a full time hospital position, then no. You can choose to opt out of things like health insurance, but you do not get paid more (there are a lot of people who choose to opt out of things like health insurance because they are covered by a better policy through a spouse or something similar).
There is no difference in hourly pay whether or not you accept benefits where i work. But considering i pay $100+ every 2 weeks for dental and health insurance, you would be able to add that $$ to your pay check if you didnt accept insurance. Ive never heard of not accepting insurance as a reason for being hired.
Also, our float pool has benefits AND a higher hourly rate.

Here's the situation, Im a vet so I wouldn't need insurance from wherever I get a job. As a future new grad starting out could I get paid more not getting benefits?
