Hi Everyone :)

I have a question for those who ever heard about this illness

My Grandfather has Sarcoidosis , so he been on surgery for 2 times and is been less then 2 years .. a month ago he been having this bad stomach pains that doesn't let him eat at all and his very weak his not the same like he use to , his a very healthy person he eats right , u never see him aeting junk food , he doesn't smoke or drink and his very active. .. I'm afraid that something bad could happen to him .. So the doctor told him he should have surgery again . But he doesn't want to because he has a very sensitive stomach for recuperation.. It sucks because every year it keeps coming back to him , not even a year maybe 8-9 months .. He has a 10 -12 pound mass around his stomach that has been taken off twice .. i was wondering if theres any treatment ?

Also i hear about this pill called " Predison" Is like steroid it says it helps alot but i want to know if he could still drink it knowing that he has that mass/ inflammation on his stomach or does he has to have surgery 1st then have the pill .

It will be very helpful is someone helps me out

thank you :)

I'm very sorry for the situation you and your grandfather are in. Unfortunately we can not offer you medical advice. I would recommend that you accompany your grandfather to his doctors office and together discuss his options benefits/risks with his doctor, if of course your grandfather is okay with this.

As the previous poster said, we can't give medical advise. Please speak with his doctor.

For the record... it's Prednisone, a steroidal anti-inflammatory often used for symptom control for many autoimmune disorders (like Sarcoidosis). Otherwise, what the other posters said. Hope it all turns out okay.

I don't blame you for being worried about your grandfather, especially if he used to be able to eat and now cannot.

This change would worry anyone.

I suggest you go with him to one of his appointments, and bring a list of questions for his doctor.

And keep asking questions. :)

I wish you the best in dealing with this, and improved health for your grandfather.
