Perfect Weather, Please!!

Hi, All:

When I graduate my ADN program, I want to move to a state with the following weather criteria:

-temp range between 50 degrees F and 60 degrees F year-round

-no snow, sleet, ice year-round

-not a lot of rain

-not "down south"

I currently live in SC and do not want to go any further down south, and the heat can be unreal.

Any suggestions?

Southern California

Not with 50-60 F temps year-round. Honestly, I can't even think of such a place.

I think you'll have to take one of those factors off the list. I grew up in a snowy city and at one point I got sick of it and moved further south to NC. It snowed here twice, no more than 4 inches. I'll accept that over having to deal with knee/waist high snow. I love warm/hot weather and while it gets cold here, the winter is rather short compared to up north.

Most places have a trade-off. No snow= high rent, no traffic=middle of nowhere, etc. Just think of what's most important, what you absolutely cannot live without and go from there. I wish I could move NYC down to where Miami is- but that's not possible, so I'll have to pick the place that has more checks in the PRO list than the CON list.

try seattle. temperature ranges 40-70 degrees most day. and say what you will about the rain -- at least you don't have to shovel it!

El Paso, TX

It's not called the "sun city" for nothing. It is a border city with a very low cost of living; it has the best Mexican food anywhere...better even than in Mexico.

Very friendly people, LARGE military population. It has the 2nd lowest homicide rate for a city greater than 500,000 (beat only by Honolulu), so it's safe, too. I know this because my sister is a crime analyst in their crimes against persons division. One caveat: STAY ON THE USA SIDE of the border (for safety); Juarez has some serious problems.

I lived in EL Paso 22 years. Miss it. Oh, I forgot to add....yes, it's hot (in the summer) but very dry. Summer nights are quite cool; it is in a desert, after all.

Texas has no state income tax!!

No perfect weather like San Diego. And no giant bugs like they have in Texas! LOL
