Hello everyone,

I am a new grad and because recruiters seem to keep their salaries a secret, it's been really difficult for me to figure out beginning nurse price ranges.

So my question is:

1)What state are you in?

2)What floor do you work on(med surg, ICU, NICU,ect?)

3)What's the pay range for new grads in your area?

4)What is the nurse to patient-ratio?

The RNs at my workplace start at $23 per hour.

Southwest Michigan. I work Cardiac ICU and New grads right out of school start out around 24.00. I have been a nurse for 11 years and make 32.00. Nurse to patient ratio varies depending on staffing.

Eastern PA. At my hospital NG RN start at about 21-23/hr with M/S ratio approx. 5:1 depending on unit.

I live in alberta canada and as an LPN up here we start at $17.39 going up to approx $21.89,

And i work on a general medicine unit at out pt to nurse ratio varies between 4:1, to 6 or 7:1 depending on if we're short staffed or not

The cost of living is outrageous, mabye I should move lol.

The best thing for you to figure out is the cost of living r/t the salary. This will give you a better idea of how much you will get for your buck. There are some sites out there that can help you figure out cost of living, compared to where you are currently. It will also give you an idea of nurse salary range in different states. The monster job site has such a thing.

22.66/hour new grad (adn) icu w/ 4000$ sign on

3.25 diff 3p-11p / 4.00 diff 11p-7a / 6.00 diff weekends

ratio is 1-3 pts depending on staffing and condition of the pt.

nursing homes pay more, clinics less.. i make 14.55 night shift new grad , it's my first job and it's at a hospital so i like it
