  3. Got my award letter today too! Thank God! and congrats to all those who has gotten their letter. This is my 2nd year applying. My facility was on the top 100 list too
  4. Thats the same for Methodist. Lebonheur is in the Methodist system
  5. I too applied and still waiting also. Good luck to everyone!
  6. I am fairly new to memphis. I loved cordova and bartlett. Methodist lebonher has a nicu. It is a childrens hospital. The MED also has a nicu. Last year when I interviewed All of the hospitals were giving a relocation bonus. St. francis, Methodist, and the med (The med said that you could choose from the relocation bonus or the sign on bonus.) I'm sure that baptist does too but I cant confirm that since I never interviewed with them. Housing is not to expensive. When I was in the market to buy a home, there were many forclosures for sale that was priced well under market value. I looked at many houses that were below 150,000 in nice areas. I must admit that I was not fond of the memphis city schools which cordova is apart of. I didnt have many problems but I was amazed at how behind they were. My son was coloring shape in his 8th grade english class. and this was a weekly thing. We are in the county system now, he only spent 2 months then it was summer break so i really cant speak on it yet....
  7. 20 dollars for agency? That seems kinda low. I started off with more than that as a new grad
  8. Hey Keli:heartbeat I too feel this way alot. I am a LDRP+nursery+GYN nurse. We do all of this on the same floor, in the same room. Sometimes we would have a laboring pt and a GYN pt (ect) at the same time. I have only been a nurse for 9 months. I feel pretty confident about my skills but when an emergency happens, they begin to fall apart. I had a good orientation, 14weeks long, but at the same time, I am at a small hospital that only does about 50 deliveries a month. I dont think that I am on the level that I should be on and it is discouraging. I think that in my 9 months, I may have had 2 c/s with me circulating by myself, 2 c/s with my preceptor (all but 1 being an emergency), an average about 1 delivery in a 1 week period, 2 precipitous deliveries that I caught on my own, and tons of laboring because I work nights. So I have yet to be comfortable with the routine things let alone an emergency. One encouraging thing is that you find yourself getting better and making "big girl" decisions as time goes on. I found myself putting pts in positions that I never thought of before to get fht back up and clamping the cord, suctioning, ect like I had done it a million times before when I had to catch that baby. So it gets better, just not quick enough:mad:
  9. Yea the Med's cap is 9000 also
  10. St. Francis quoted me 19.65 for New Grad pay and I dont remember the shift diff. Only St. Francis-Bartlett is rumored to be closing the OB unit. The big St. francis near poplar is doing fine in the Ob dept. The Med quoted me 20.25 with 4 dollar nites and 4 dollar weekends and they did have a short orientation. I applied for the Mom/baby unit and the orientation was going to be 6 weeks long. Methodist is 20.55 for new grad 4.75 for nites and 4 for weekends. They do have a weekend program but you have to have a year experience. I really liked St. francis and Methodist. I wasnt too impressed with the Med. yes Baptist paid the highest but they were pretty short with me when I told them that i didnt want to work in certain areas, so I dont know how the actual work environment is.
  11. I was told 19.65 for new grads at st. francis and I dont know about St. Jude.
  12. I know that Methodist and baptist is not union. I dont know about the others tho
  13. Thank you llg. I love that advice. I really like the people that I work with and I love my job, I just didnt want to let the situation pass without saying anything but I didnt want to raise hell about it either because I know that I will be taken care of in other ways. But at the same time, I am not going to let the "punk" me either and thats how I would feel if I didnt say anything about it. Its a small bonus, but they still should not have promised me it if the funds were not available.
  14. Thanks mommy! I love it here in memphis. I didnt get it in writing but the recruiter just kept telling me that i was going to get this bonus up until my second day of work then she didnt even call me, I called her and THEN she told me. I do love my job so I didnt know If I should raise the issue or not.
  15. If you were promised a relocation bonus of one amount of 1500 but once you got there the amout was reduced significantly to 500, what would you do? Would you take the amount or would you raise an issue?
