I am a graduate RN in upstate NY, and my husband has a job opportunity in Memphis. After doing some prelim. research on the area I'm leaning to Marion. It seems to be only a 30 min commute, decent priced homes. Are the closed hospitals in Memphis?? I have a 2yr old and 4yr old and am looking for a small town with good schools. Any info would be helpful about this area. Thanks

Any info you can give me on the area and hospitals would be so appreciated. I have a a 2yr old and 4 yr old, and I don't think I want to live in inner city Memphis. We are from a fairly rural city of 30,000. I'm not sure what suburbs of Memphis are nice, close to the hospitals, and NUCOR. I'm working on a Cardiac Telemetry floor now, but would really like to work in a NICU. What suburbs are close? How expensive is housing? Do any of the hospitals have childcare on site? Do any hospitals offer relocation assistance? Which hospitals have level III and IV NICU's?? This would be a huge move for us, I'm very nervous going to a city where I know noone. Any tips would be helpful.
