New ER nurse, forced to quit just after completing internship for husband's job relocation

I graduated nursing school in Dec 2015, and started my ER internship in Jan 2016. I JUST completed this internship and am now scheduled on my own. I'm also currently 14 weeks pregnant. My husband ended up taking a job that will relocate us to a different city in June. Our move date June 18. I tried and tried to push this date back so I could work as long as possible there, but it didn't work out. I feel so terrible to have to up and quit so soon, but it's life and family. I'm just needing advice as to how and when to break the news to my employers. Do I do it now or work a few more weeks and then let them down? I've also had horrible pregnancy insomnia and migraines and have already missed a couple of work days. My employers seem to really like me this far and I certainly don't want to burn bridges. Advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, it's OK. This appears to be a case of "unavoidable turnover" (in HR lingo). If you didn't know about the relocation or anticipate the pregnancy, you didn't do anything shady. Everyone will understand because these things happen. It's probably a good idea to take some time off anyway, while you're not doing well health-wise.

Be honest and forthright. Express sincere appreciation for the opportunity you have been given. Who knows? You may end up there again in the future and end up working for them again.

Best of luck on your relo & congratulations on your baby!!!

Lovely response.

Could you consider staying if your pregnancy gets better? You are a new grad and will probably take some time off after the birth? If you stay you could get a little more experience under your belt before being off for a yearish almost or more depending on your timeline. Ignore this, I read it wrong. Ya this is a good time since you are done with the internship. I thought that you weren't done.

can your husband commute, say home on w/e? how far away? do you have family where you are now?
