NEURO: Why isn't there a Neuro Nursing Forum in the nursing specialty forums?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Just curious, but why isn't there a forum for neuro nurses? I just clicked on "Nursing Specialties" under the Specialty tab and I don't see a forum for Neuro nurses!

Yes, I am well aware that under Critical Care Nursing, there is a forum for Neuro ICU. I see that it is titled Neuro Intensive Care Nursing. However, there are many hospitals that have Med-Surg/Neuro floors and those neuro floor nurses are not dealing with the same scenarios as critical care nurses who work in a Neuro ICU! Why no neuro forum under the general nursing specialties list??

Specializes in Med/Surge, Psych, LTC, Home Health.

Well, I looked back and noticed that there's not a Urology nursing forum either.

My point is that those areas generally fall under the Med/Surge category. However, it WOULD be a good idea to perhaps have "sub-forum" under the Med/Surge category... a forum for general Med/Surge questions, and then a forum for renal, urology, neurology, respiratory, diabetes, ETC...

Under "Critical care nursing"...which, is under "Specialty" at upper right gold menu bar.

I don't know, but there's not a forum for nurses that work in Chemical Dependency, Detox/Rehab either. Having worked in Psych units and Detox/Rehab centers, I can say that they are strikingly different. I guess it's all up to the administrators. :-)

I am planning to shift to neuro nursing but I have no idea what this is all about. Need some feedbacks from nurses what neuro nursing is all about.Presently doing general nursing, mainly med/surg.

Specializes in ED, ICU, MS/MT, PCU, CM, House Sup, Frontline mgr.

op and others: go to the med surg forum and start asking questions... i work neuro m/s not critical care.
