Need clarification please

I have a question, can someone please clarify what is the difference between LVN and an LPN, I'm originally from Texas and moved here to Cali, I heard mostly LVN in Texas and that's what I'm hearing my schooling towards to become licenses, yet here in cali, I've heard LPN in stead of LVN, so I'm a bit confused, is there a difference

I honestly can't remember, but I know I've seen it explained on here before. If no one comes along to offer an explanation, try using the search feature and you should be able to find one.

No difference in scope, they're just called different things in different regions.

The difference is

In CA & TX the title is licensed vocational nurse

The other 48 states the title is licensed practical nurse.

Both complete 12-24 months of nursing clinical & theory in med/surg, pharmacology, pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health & maternity. Upon graduation VN & PN candidates take the same national exam: NCLEX-PN

If you graduated from a VN program in TX and worked as a LVN then moved to PA you would endorse your TX LVN to a PA LPN.
