  1. I already took the assessment tests which I passed both, and I recently downloaded the Khan app, which I shall be using once officially accepted, that is pending the interview, which I am very nervous about I've never been interviewed to be accepted into school the school only accepts the top 30%, so needless to say, the interview has to be in my opinion perfect... Any suggestions on how to master that???
  2. Yes there is but for the most part they are on line and I don't fair well with that. I suppose you can say I'm old school in that manner, seems I excel more in the structure of the classroom.
  3. I agree with you I am a CNA and maybe it is a dirty job persay, but it is very rewarding as well, I LOVE my residents they gave me a renew reason to continue my education to become an LVN Knowing that i gave all so my resident even if only brief didnt feel alone or forgotten and loved then i know i did what my calling was. And its not just a job , it is a calling .....
  4. Well Im back....This time continuing my education going from CNA to LVN . my question is after i completed two assesement test and passed I still have to complete an interview with the director of the nursing dept. Not a problem persay, however was wondering if this is normal for the LVN course and if so any advice from other LVNs who may have been through a similar situation in regards to help me seal this interview. I am so anxious to move forward yet nervous, the school only acceots the top 30% . The interview plays a factor in your ranking and my scores even though passed me to the final step, I am a bit older then those who are coming fresh out of school. My english scores was that of college level , however my math, which i admit is not my stongest attribute, was that of a high school graduate. And that was back in 1986 for me. Hence why it is so important that I "nail" the interview. Thank you in advance for any and all help or suggesstions.
  5. Well as I mentioned in a previous post,I passed my cert test and was waiting on my background check for a job, that is now complete and I'm on to my physical. Can any one please tell me what does the physical entail? I know drug screen and tb test but what else? I'm not worried about passing I'm good in all aspects just curious and was wondering what to expect to some extent. Thanks
  6. That's just wrong, on so many levels...lol
  7. I agree I look forward to your comments....
  8. This is to funny, y'all crack me up, thankfully I've yet to endure this type of situation, but grateful I'm now aware of how to handle the situation which I'm sure will arise..."pillow ther...um I mean a surgical mask, thanks I'll keep one handy at all times.
  9. My point exactly.
  10. I think it shouldn't be on a social media of any sort, even if it's just for staff and Drs, reason being, if it leaks beyond the staff, could it be sold or encouraged to be done as a home remedy which in turn, between the privacy issues and the lack of knowledge to perform the procedure, would be beyond devastating on numerous levels.
  11. Thank you for your advise it seems very logical as well as most productive, and yes I'm from the south ,Texas, to be exact. A far as employment,I am hoping to work in a hospital as a CNA while I continue with my education, but again I've noticed others posted that some hospitals are asking for at least a minimum of 6 mo. experience in some form of a LTC facility, which brings me to my next question, would it be wise to apply at a hospital upon completion of my N.A. or wait the 6 months??
  12. Thank you for your help,I wasn't sure if it was just a region thing or maybe a difference in duties
  13. I have a question, can someone please clarify what is the difference between LVN and an LPN, I'm originally from Texas and moved here to Cali, I heard mostly LVN in Texas and that's what I'm hearing my schooling towards to become licenses, yet here in cali, I've heard LPN in stead of LVN, so I'm a bit confused, is there a difference
  14. So in y'alls opinion which would be the best course of action, do I work as a CNA for a bit then continue with school for LVN, or just continue on with school...I'm assuming the experience I'll receive as a CNA would be beneficial, like a step ahead so to speak, once I start the LVN courses, my goal is to be a licenced nurse by the golden age of fifty,I'll be forty eight this December...:/, but not giving up
  15. I've enquired in several schools, tech schools to be specific , and each stated that I needed my credits from being a CNA in order to qualify for the LVN courses, Is that because, maybe it being a tech school...???
