Movin' on up
I already took the assessment tests which I passed both, and I recently downloaded the Khan app, which I shall be using once officially accepted, that is pending the interview, which I am very nervous about I've never been interviewed to be accepted into school the school only accepts the top 30%, so needless to say, the interview has to be in my opinion perfect... Any suggestions on how to master that???

Movin' on up
Yes there is but for the most part they are on line and I don't fair well with that. I suppose you can say I'm old school in that manner, seems I excel more in the structure of the classroom.

Benefits of becoming a CNA before Nursing School??
I agree with you I am a CNA and maybe it is a dirty job persay, but it is very rewarding as well, I LOVE my residents they gave me a renew reason to continue my education to become an LVN Knowing that i gave all so my resident even if only brief didnt feel alone or forgotten and loved then i know i did what my calling was. And its not just a job , it is a calling .....

Movin' on up
Well Im back....This time continuing my education going from CNA to LVN . my question is after i completed two assesement test and passed I still have to complete an interview with the director of the nursing dept. Not a problem persay, however was wondering if this is normal for the LVN course and if so any advice from other LVNs who may have been through a similar situation in regards to help me seal this interview. I am so anxious to move forward yet nervous, the school only acceots the top 30% . The interview plays a factor in your ranking and my scores even though passed me to the final step, I am a bit older then those who are coming fresh out of school. My english scores was that of college level , however my math, which i admit is not my stongest attribute, was that of a high school graduate. And that was back in 1986 for me. Hence why it is so important that I "nail" the interview. Thank you in advance for any and all help or suggesstions.

I'm not worried about passing I'm good in all aspects just curious and was wondering what to expect to some extent. Thanks

Patient videos on social media?
My point exactly.

Patient videos on social media?
I think it shouldn't be on a social media of any sort, even if it's just for staff and Drs, reason being, if it leaks beyond the staff, could it be sold or encouraged to be done as a home remedy which in turn, between the privacy issues and the lack of knowledge to perform the procedure, would be beyond devastating on numerous levels.

Looking for guidance...
Thank you for your advise it seems very logical as well as most productive, and yes I'm from the south ,Texas, to be exact. A far as employment,I am hoping to work in a hospital as a CNA while I continue with my education, but again I've noticed others posted that some hospitals are asking for at least a minimum of 6 mo. experience in some form of a LTC facility, which brings me to my next question, would it be wise to apply at a hospital upon completion of my N.A. or wait the 6 months??

Need clarification please
Thank you for your help,I wasn't sure if it was just a region thing or maybe a difference in duties

Need clarification please
I have a question, can someone please clarify what is the difference between LVN and an LPN, I'm originally from Texas and moved here to Cali, I heard mostly LVN in Texas and that's what I'm hearing my schooling towards to become licenses, yet here in cali, I've heard LPN in stead of LVN, so I'm a bit confused, is there a difference

Looking for guidance...
So in y'alls opinion which would be the best course of action, do I work as a CNA for a bit then continue with school for LVN, or just continue on with school...I'm assuming the experience I'll receive as a CNA would be beneficial, like a step ahead so to speak, once I start the LVN courses, my goal is to be a licenced nurse by the golden age of fifty,I'll be forty eight this December...:/, but not giving up
-
Looking for guidance...
I've enquired in several schools, tech schools to be specific , and each stated that I needed my credits from being a CNA in order to qualify for the LVN courses, Is that because, maybe it being a tech school...???

Looking for guidance...
Hi y'all was wondering if by your own experience y'all could guide me in the proper direction..I am currently going for my CNA certification, however I'm eager to become an LVN/LPN, My question is do I have to work as a CNA first before I continue with my education or can I just continue on to obtain my licences? Just not sure which way to go, or what would be more feasible, add I previously stated in my other post time is of the essence,

Nurses behavior towards CNA's?
I have to agree it sounded stressful on both your parts I think we fail to realize is that maybe the nurse was abrupt with her request but as she is breathing down your neck she probably has a Dr breathing down hers you know the saying..poop rolls down the hill, don't take it personal everyone has those days, maybe there was a time you spoke abruptly with no harm intended at some one , it happens, don't hold grudges it makes the work place uncomfortable for all especially the patients.

why do many MAs and CNAs call themselves nurses?
Sorry lack of punctuation can really send things into a frenzy...what was meant is TITLE matters if it is earned, not to go around calling yourself a nurse if you don't carry the licences that gives you the title...Sorry for the miss interruption
-
why do many MAs and CNAs call themselves nurses?
Wow lets not get ugly and say CNA or MA is not part of the nursing realm it's a step towards becoming license I'm continuing to achieve my LVN , AND I encourage CNAs and MAs to do the same if they wish but come on lets not be ugly and undermine those of us who do respect the TITLE done people like cops become badge heavy same with ALL professions and yea there are nurses who think they should be doctors cuz of the responsibility they endure yet do not have the TITLE either way just keep striving for better and know who you call friend
-
why do many MAs and CNAs call themselves nurses?
Ok just to clarify I do agree one should not claim to be something they are not if your a CNA then be proud of that that doesn't undermine you in any means in the medical profession but don't disillusion yourself thinking your an RN title does matter.
