Myers-Briggs Type

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I know this is an often-used test. I've taken it three times since h.s. I am mostly an ENFP, sometimes an ISFP. Anyone else know their type? I wonder what other types people on the forum are, and if there are some patterns predominant among nurses. I'm sooo curious! Wheeeee!

I'm an INTJ also. Where did you find the percentages? Thanks.

I read this in some personality book I read regarding Myers Briggs years back, and I've seen this figure on the internet. Not helpful, I know.

One common trait of INTJ's is that we ask for information from people and then we don't give any feedback to the other person. Others can end up feeling criticized or 'naked' with us. We can be too demanding and critical. This is so 100% me. I have to constantly remind myself to thank others for giving me information or make other validating comments, rather than my natural way of ignoring them after I have the info I wanted. My default state is something like "why would I say anything else, I got the info I wanted, I'm done with you.":uhoh3: I hate hate hate small talk too. Do you notice this? Never mind if too nosy.

OH my gosh lol..we would not get along ha ha.... my type (I can't remember) is very ...eh....untrusting. There are 'germies' on every corner and every person has motives. Well more or less. This makes us very particular and very picky and we are very sensitive.... so are hurt quickly ...but we are also very good 'safety monitors' so make good nurses ha ha. Well, I can thank my screwed up upbringing for my profession...whooopeee! lol.

AHA ...I'm ESFJ...had to go look it up.

Yes!!! Sometimes, when out in public, especially on a bus, I just want to SMACK people who talk constantly! I've learned to tolerate it at parties--sometimes, for an hour or two only.

I'd like to see some info on what personality types go best together in marriages.

Another INTJ here... although I am hesitant to even admit it! :wink2:

We really are compassionate, loving people. It's just that it's so hard to get to know us.

Ok, I'd like to know if my fellow INTJ's share my troubles.

I really don't want to know too much about others feelings. I do and I don't. I want to know facts. Facts are superior to feelings. And logic rules. I only care about evidence, reason, and logic.

I'm not the unfeeling oof that I sound like either. I just have to remind myself to pay attention to, and validate other's feelings when I want to get to the facts of a matter and a logical solution.

My father in law is really into this stuff. I took the test a while ago and it's pretty accurate. I'm an ENFJ.

I found this website where you can take a shortened test and see your results for free. If your interested...

http://www.kisa.ca/personality

After you take the test, this website has good descriptions of each type and what it means, etc.

http://www.personalitypage.com

It will be interesting to se if nurses tend to be certain types or if it is very mixed.

I've taken the test many times thru the years, but appreciated the opportunity to take the one on the link you provided... thanks!

My results; Personality type is ISFJ [The Nurturers].

I found the second link you provided a great read, too! The descriptions I read on my ISFJ personality type fit me perfectly. LOL, glad to see I'm in the right profession.

If you go to the second website I mentioned earlier it has a compatibility page for love relationships. Just click on your personality type and then the heart at the top of the page. My boyfriend and I took the test when we first started dating. It said we matched as most compatible (I'm an ENFJ and he's a ISFP). I guess it was right because now we're married!

I'm an ENFP. It fits...almost too well! *lol* :lol2:

It will be interesting to read some more about how the different personality types fit together ;) I'm getting ready to have dh take the test on the link that was posted, we're such opposites that I know I'll be looking into how our types fit together :)
