Master vs Classic SE

What is the difference between the Littman Master Stethescope and the Classic II SE? Which is better? I'm starting Nursing school next week and want to buy a stethescope asap. Any input would be appreciated.

RodeoLP---good luck with your first semester.

I'm sorry---I don't know the difference between the two, but I have a Classic II SE, and I REALLY like it.

Whatever you choose, be careful----the good stethoscopes have a tendency to sprout legs and walk away.

I have the classic SE, I like it, it's been my ears for 8 years now, no fail. Docs frequently borrow it in preference over other stethoscopes.

I dunno about the master.

I have a Classic SE that is a bright magenta - love it!

I have a master that I just love. It's rated 10 on a 1-10 scale for accoustics. If you want a clear and detailed explaination, go to allheart.com they go into great detail about the differences. Good luck in classes.:roll

The Master Cardiology is rated 10 out of 10 for acoustics. The Master Classic is rated 8 out of 10 for acoustics. I've used both the Classic II SE and the Master Classic. The Master Classic is better. For a beginning nursing student, I'd recommend the Classic II SE. Keep it in your possession at all times as the Litmanns have a tendency to grow legs and walk away. Good luck.

I don't know about those two, but I have a Cardio III and I absolutely love it.

I have a Cardio III as well, like it except it gets pretty heavy around my neck...had a Classic II SE, thought it was almost as good as what I have...have used Master Cardiology a couple times and thought it was pretty good too, though not experienced enough with it to be able to compare.

If money is an issue, the II SE will definitely be a good choice.

Good luck with school! :)

Why don't you do a search for "stethescopes" above? There have been lots of other threads on this....:)
