  1. I moved to Atlanta from Florida after I graduated. I took the Florida boards in Georgia and then applied for endorsement. I received endorsement in 2 weeks, with no problems. Goodluck!
  2. I have the opportunity to work on a tele unit at a teaching hospital. I was very excited until I asked the NM about the nurse to patient ratio. She said that it is anywhere between 1:5 to 1:8. I'm thinking anything over 1:6 has to be unsafe. I really want to work at this hospital but it sounds like with 1:8 my license would be on the line. Any advice?
  3. I recently applied for a job that was posted as 7a - 7p 40 hours per week. If you're working three days a week at 12 hours each shift, does that mean that you would have to do an extra 4 hours per week? I don't have a clue on this one.

  6. Please don't be discouraged. I took it in august, and it stopped at 265. I felt EXACTLY the way you do now. I was, nervous and couldn't sleep until I saw my License info on the BON website. So hang in there and keep the faith.
  7. Hi all, I have a dilemma. I am a new nurse trying to decide what shift to work with an 11 year old and a 15 year old at home. For 7a-7p I would have to leave the house at 6:15a. The boys wake up at 7a to be at the bus stop at 7:45. I don't trust them to get up and out on their own. One option is to find someone to be at my house from 6-8a and come back from 4-8p when they get home, which would be hard because of the day being broken up like that. If I take the 7p-7a I would have to pay someone to be there for 14 hours. I would be home when they get in from school but not when they leave. Any advice would be appreciated.
