Is there a limit to tuberculin injections? (mantoux)

Hello everyone! I am an RN student with only 1 semester left. :) I have always wondered if there was a limit to the amount of times you can be given a Mantoux? Im about to have my fourth one in 1 month due to working as a aid and even though the past three times I was negative apparently the second time it wasn't read within 72 hours and my first and third one where done too far apart to be considered a 2 step mantoux(for their guidelines). I also had one done in november for school. Any help or information would be appreciated! ~Keppeler

If you had one done in November and it was negative why did you not get the verified result sent to whomever is testing you now. I am confused as to why it is taking 4 tests to verify results. We can't give medical advice here so I would check with your doctor or nurse practioner.

Here are CDC guidelines

I'm not sure if there is a limit either. But my school says that if there was a positive result a chest x-ray could be ordered to prove the same results. If you're worried about that I would just go for the chest x-ray.

This is something you really need to speak to your PCP or employer's Occ Health about. We can not as per Terms of service (as already mentioned) give medical advice
