Hey hon,
I doubt he'd call to say, "Ummm no sorry, we don't want you." to the 500+ applicants, take it as a good sign! Get some rest and call bck tomorrow!
Protip (to new grads looking for a job) give your cell phone number when applying and carry it with you AT ALL TIMES!!! ALL TIMES! #kanyeshrug
a phone call is always good..means they saw something they liked..but it also means that they are calling others as well...meaning, someone might be just as good/qualified, have said all the right things and and they got a call back to come in for a face to face interview...a lot rides on that initial phone contact. it's a good sign but it could also be false hope if someone else trumps the others.
OMG!! Same thing happened to me last week. I had an interview on Wed. at 0930..didn't really think the manager was interested, so I just left it alone and left my phone upstairs on the charger. Later that evening I go upstairs to get my phone and I had missed the call from the HR recruiter!!! I tried to call back , but of course it was too late. Imagine my suspense of not knowing:confused:..I was convienced that I had done something wrong during the interview and they were calling to advise me not to do it again. To my surprise...I called back the next day and they offered my the job!!
All I can say is your outlook is looking good...And most likely you got the job!!

A month or so ago, I applied to two positions at a hospital. I interviewed for one, and received a rejection via e-mail for the other. Today, I missed a call from the recruiter at the hospital. He left a very nice voicemail asking me to call him back. I did, but it was 5:03 p.m. - I must have just missed him. Now the suspense is going to kill me. Would a hospital call to tell me I didn't get the job? If they did, wouldn't they just leave a voicemail? PLEASE tell me this might be the sun coming through the proverbial clouds of unemployment! I'm trying not to get my hopes up - but at the same time, I so want this job!
