Interview tomorrow

:confused:Okay, if anyone is out there, I have an interview tomorrow,thing is I have interviewed with this hospital before..a year ago, and was not impressed. I have 3 co workers at my existing employment that have tried the hospital, 2 very bad experiences and 2 have not returned to the hospital because they were dumped on, 7 pt's on orientation, first day. I think is unsafe anyway. My 3rd co worker has been there a year and all in all really likes it, but it is the horror stories she tells me about. They move her in a time frame of 12-16 hour shift to sometimes 4 different units, or ask her to come in and cover 4 hours. I think a diverse atomosphere would benefit me as I am LPN to RN right now and my specialty for the last 2 yrs has been ER..........................should I go to the interview, it is for float pool, which all 3 co workers have attempted,:bluecry1: only one sucessful............

I would not burn any bridges. You never know what will happen in the future and at some point it may be a great place to work. From what you said, there is no way I would consider this position if I already had a job. Everything you have posted is negative, so why even consider it. If it is a nightmare and a difficult place to work then what are you going to gain? It is a little late to cancel the interview, so I would most likely go and hear what they have to say about it. You can always decline the position. It would look much better on you than cancelling the interview at the last minute.

Why did you apply again to this hospital if everyone you know has problems with the hospital and you already had a less than impressive interview before? From what you said about the place it seems like a nobrainer to me.

Most hospitals that I have been looking at applying to REQUIRE 1 year solid acute care experience prior to working resource pool.

Well, I am glad I got some constructive feed back. I did go to the interview. I was really suprised at the conversation, and the reason I had a second interview in the first place is They called me, I did not call them.

I expressed my concerns for the issues that I had heard about and I was told that is usually not what is supposed to happen, getting loaded up on orientation, etc. So the convesation was very positive and I felt flattered that they would like me to work in there ER and CCU. I do have to admit it was a good ego boost for me, and I feel like there could be posibilities. The interview was actually more of a fact finding and I feel much better about the facility as a whole. So thank you for the positive feedback. :wink2:
