While at work the other night, I got this sudden rush of a feeling--
I LOVE MY JOB!!
My coworkers are team players. They help me when I need help; I get my 1/2 hour breaks, the assignments are fair, I'm not totally overwhelmed, and everyone gets along.
I've had jobs that I HATED, but i figured, what the heck, that's why they call it "work," right?
And basically, being a new nurse, I had so much to learn, getting comfortable with doing nursing is something I'm still working on.
But i guess i never really realized how bad I felt about those jobs til i got this one---and it turns out, this is my DREAM JOB, and i'm so glad I don't have to DRAG myself to work every day.

You know, now that I think of it, since I've been on my new unit, things are going much better than on the unit I came from. Everyone DOES get along, no one b!tches about their assignments, and we all help each other out, and I don't mind going in...What more can you ask for? Life is sweeeeeeet!

That is what I'm looking forward to feeling when I'm done with school and actually working in nursing...I've worked for too long at jobs that offer no satisfaction except a paycheck...and there is more to life than the almighty dollar.
I know there is going to be a learning curve once I am actually at the bedside, but I'm ready for the challenges, and it will really mean something to me to be making a difference in someone's life, rather than just keeping track of their money.
Thanks for sharing the good news about your job!
