How long did you breastfeed your children?

I will start...I breastfed my son until just after his 3rd birthday.:)

First child 15 months, no problems at all - had to quit due to becoming pregnant and having problems. Second child about 7 months - it was a struggle with her from the beginning. At about 6 months I introduced cereal & food and her desire to nurse dropped, and I had to supplement with formula. She never really liked the formula and to this day (she is 7years old) she will not drink milk.

My daughter self-weaned a few weeks after her 3rd birthday. It was a good run. :)

First child- 8 months

Second child-13 months

Third child-17 months

Fourth child-18 months ( I would have nursed him longer but he was very stubborn and insisted on biting me all the time. :( )

First son 18 months, stopped due to finding out I was pregnant with #2. Actually, that's how I figured out I was pregnant, he suddenly started fussing when nursing, guess it tasted different or there just wasn't enough.

Second son, 18 months. This time I think I was just done. 5 1/2 years straight of being pregnant and nursing.

Both of mine weaned themselves off the breast at exactly nine mos.

To my great disappointment.. :o

...it was the first and only time I had breasts that were visible !!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am extremely thankful to see others breastfed as long as I did.

Our daughter (17-years-old now) decided she wanted to explore other options at 6 months. Our son (13-years-old now) breastfed until just before his third birthday. I knew he would be my last baby, and wanted to enjoy the experience as long as I/we could. He was such a healthy baby: no ear infections, colds, sleep problems.
