How long did you breastfeed your children?

I will start...I breastfed my son until just after his 3rd birthday.:)

dd self-weaned at about 14 months when she bit and I reacted and scared her... she went on a strike and I tried for a month to win her back but she nursed only one more time but had too many other new skills to keep her busy I guess and I was heartbroken!

ds weaned one week after he turned 3... up until then he had cut down to an occ. bedtime session

the three of us still co-sleep most of the four nights a week they're home with me

My son quit on his 8 month old birthday. I cried for 2 days straight. My husband couldn't figure it out! The only thing I could say is, " I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to it!"

I can't wait to breastfeed the second. It is like no experience and bond any person has ever had. I recommend every new mother at least try it. There's nothing like it!
