do you think it would be ok if i added a few things on my resume to get this good job i noticed in the paper yesterday. it a cna job that claims to be no exp. necessary starting at 14hr. i got limted job experience cuz i quite my last 2 jobs due to stress and overwork. how do i explain away gaps in my work history. can i put on there some memberships to make my resume look good. how will they no if i actually belong to those clubs. i was going to put a company down to explain gaps in history and use a friend to play as my ex boss. anyone ever did that. they call and my friend said he would act as my old boss and give good reference and change up his voice. any advice welcome.

Um..no.

You cant lie.

And to have a friend lie for you?

Thats even worse.

What goes around comes around, and this will come back to bite you.

Lying on your resume is a very bad idea. Not only will it not get you this job if you are found out, but if word gets around to other possible employers, itcould really tarnish your rep. for other opportunities.

As for gaps in resumes, they can be simply and reasonably explained during an interview. Employers understand reason people take time away from jobs, as long as it's not for things that would affect the current job (like jail time for something related to previous jobs!).

I'm beginning to wonder if johnnyDoGood is for real. I wouldn't be surprised if "he" isn't really someone who is making this stuff up.

Thanks for the heads up . . . I just did a search on this poster . . . general feeling that these posts are bogus. Thanks for saving me , and probably others, some time!

Johnny, allnurses.com is not the place to gather information about how to lie. You are speaking to professionals here who advocate honesty and integrity.
