Hey everybody,

I was playing around on the internet and came across a site that has some free slide shows with lectures about various diseases/conditions and their tx in the ICU. Thought I'd share. Some of it can be a bit dry, but I haven't watched one yet where I didn't learn at least something. Most are only about 15-20 minutes per module, so it's a great way to just sit down, learn a bit, and then go on with your day. It's also great for those of you who can learn better by also hearing, not just reading educational materials. You have to register, but it's free, and I haven't gotten junk mail yet... The site and instructions to get to the modules:

http://www.learnicu.org

-On the left side of the page, click on "Clinical Practice"

-Go to Fundamentals

-Go to RICU

-Now, on the right side of the screen you can choose either AICU (adult) or PICU (peds).

-There should then come up a list of the modules offered. Just click on one, and it will bring up a slide show. There is a lecture on each module, so turn up your sound.

Just thought I'd share! Hope you like! :D

and another superb icu site:

Here are a couple more: www.icufaqs.com and www.ccmtutorials.com

the first is very extensive on many aspects of critical care. ccm tutorials covers basic critical care topics, but is geared more towards the residents (MD's).

in addition to the icufaq website, I regularly listen tothe icurounds podcasts. I'm not an icu nurse, but the level of instruction is perfect for me. It's not over my head, but I learn a lot with each podcast. It's great for more experienced nurses, particularly those who work in nonicu settings. It's actually primarily for med students, but it's very accessible.

How do I get the "ICU Rounds" podcasts onto my ipod. I can only get them to play, but cannot sync?? Thanks
