Does anyone happen to know when CNA day/week is? I'd love to get my girls something to show how much I appreciate them, aside from the thank yous. Thank ahead of time!!

That's a very nice thing for you to do, although I do not know the answer to your question.

I wasn't even aware that there was a CNA appreciation week/day.

How often I hear the nurses at work call us their "girls". Nevermind the fact that most of the aides are at least 10 years older than the charge nurses. Am I the only CNA who finds this a bit degrading? Sure, we are under your delegation, but if we belong to anyone, it's the residents/patients. Why not call us your "aides" or "CNAs"? It might seem silly, but this just irks me.

i think the facility sets the day for it.

Julie, I apologize if I offended you. I actually normally call my aides just that, aides or by their first names. I am not a nurse that thinks I am 'superior' to them or anything, having been an aide myself . Thank you for pointing out my error.

I'll definitely be buying supper, a pizza or something I know they all like. I'd like to get them a little gift, I saw in a catalog pins with a caduceus & CNA on it. I'm still tossing ideas around in my head.
