Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry OR microbiology. I wouldn't suggest taking all 3 at once, you'll have a difficult road ahead of you. But defiantly anatomy and physiology. Also, sign up for some CNA courses if you can. It's very helpful to have your CNA or to have worked as one. You can do this anytime, even as a senior in high school you should be able to do this.
Other than those, just some general courses. Take a writing course, you'll be doing a lot of paper writing in your nursing classes, maybe a sociology class. Depending on the college you pick they will work with you on what classes you need. You might need a math course as well.
Different nursing schools require different classes. I had to take 3 research classes, and I don't know of anyone else who had to take these. In nursing, it is imperative that you get with an advisor at your college and take everything according to plan. Nursing classes are usually progressive, meaning you can't take "this" till you've had "that." At some schools, you can't even get into the nursing program until you have had chemistry, Anatomy, etc. Good luck.
don't spend money till you KNOW for sure what will apply to the nursing degree. Each course has a number which designates the status of that course (for seniors only? Requires pre-req? has a lab?) This number tells your advisor if the course will apply to your degree program. Otherwise, it may end up as an elective and you have lost time and money.
an advisor will have a degree plan. follow whats on the plan. class by class. i would NOT recommend you take Anatomy and Physiology your year. the basic core classes is what is usually outlined for the first semester ( history english math chem and maybe art).
when you choose your major and attend freshman orientation you will meet your advisor.

I'm currently a senior in high school...I'm wondering what classes should I take my freshman year in college, if I want to begin a career in nursing?...
