Cadbury pulling it's awful commercial!

Hey, did y'all see that Cadbury is pulling that awful commercial where nurses are shown as bimbos?? I emailed my opinion (as did many, many others of you) of this disgusting commercial a few weeks ago. I received an email today informing me that it would be pulled within the week and they sincerely apologized for their error in judgment. To all who participated in voicing your objections--IT WORKED! To the nurses who headed up this formal objection--THANK YOU!!

Did the commercial have a NICU nurse drooling over a Fruit and Nut bar? Because that would have been me. Sorry. ;)

That J&J commercial...has a narrator talking about what a selfless and noble profession nursing is while it shows these actresses/nurses with hair dishevled bending sappily over some distraught and desperate person (you know, all the drama and such) and then, the most hideous unmelodic tune starts playing and this guy starts singing you're a nuuuuurrrse....

It makes me want to vomit. Spare me.

I never saw the Cadbury commercial.

I never liked the J&J ads - I didn't find them offensive, just stupid. I did HATE that song, though. I'm glad the ads aren't shown anymore (at least where I live - I haven't seen one in a very long time), I was getting tired of having to flip the channel to get away from that song.

Years ago we had an ad on Ad on TV about Mars Bars. It showed a nurse eating one and the slogon 'A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play'.

Well one of our comedians pinched the idea and did a sketch with a nurse eating a Mars Bar with the slogan 'A Mars a day, the only thing a nurse can afford to eat'.

Don't think the government where very happy!!!:trout:
