How many of you wore scrubs to your very first day of orientation of WORK? I'm thinking of wearing regular casual clothes as this is usually a day of videos/paperwork? thoughts please??

Business casual is probably fine, but there is no harm in calling and asking what you should wear.

I wore scrubs when I hit the floor, but in class orientation I dressed up but put on flats

it's for work, not school .. sorry forgot to add that

I would be in scrubs, but if you're unsure just ask the facility.

I personally feel that nurses over-do the scrubs thing when they're off the floor. As in, without scrubs they'd have nothing else appropriate to wear (?!). It's a recipe for a TLC "What Not To Wear" in the making. haha

I'd recommend business casual for the classroom-ish orientation and then scrubs once you're on the unit.

just called them and they said business casual is fine for first day lol thanks guys

i would say casual dress clothes if your just going to be watching videos etc. I would call thought and just ask if they want you to wear scrubs in case you might be on the unit for some chance. chances are you wont be but i would call just to make sure and maybe bring a pair of scrubs with you just incase they happen to want you to work on the unit

Business Casual

Why would you wear scrubs if you are not going to be on the floor?

Business casual. Sometimes they give you the option, but I never found it appealing to wear scrubs because quite honest I wear them all the time for work so wearing something is a nice change.

I don't like scrubs at all. Wrong field to be in I guess....

hmm...depends. when I started orientation they told us to wear scrubs!! ask ur HR rep or manager...
