General Chem II

Hello everyone,

I am SUPER nervous about taking General Chemistry. I am not very good at science, and Chem I kicked my butt (I got a B. :/). If you have taken Gen Chem I, can you please tell me this: was it harder than Chem I? Did you do better grade-wise in Chem II than Chem I?

I am super nervous about this course. Everything about it terrifies me. I NEED an A. So far my grades look like this:

Biology- A

General Chem- B

Psychology- A

Sociology- A

English- AP Cred.

Human Anatomy- Haven't taken yet.

Thanks in advance!

Is general chemistry II a continuation of inorganic chemistry?

Im taking general chem this semester too, it seems like a ton of math, but my instructer is giving out homework, so that will help BIG TIME.Also I broke down and bought a study guide.

What study guide did you get?

lol its so funny that other non-nursing students would be thrilled with a B but we start sweating if we only have an A- lol

Woah, all your classes are like the same classes my nursing program took last semester. What school do you go to?

Anyway, I'm taking general chem II this semester too. I am super nervous because I heard its harder. I also read like 2 chapters in the textbook which was the same textbook used for chem I and its a lot of drawing. I had to draw the structures of the carbon compounds which was pretty hard. o_o

I am trying to get into OSU's College of nursing. Prereqs are: Sociology, Psychology, Biology, Human Anatomy, Gen Chem I and II, and English.

And yes, I have had to draw a TON for this class.

I personally felt that the second semester of general chemistry was easier than the first semester but I think that was due (a) to being acclimated to the subject, and (b) the final sections on introductory organic and biochemistry (which I thought were both very interesting and fairly easy).

I also found the topics of kinetics and energetics to be pretty straightforward.

It is titled Elementary Chemistry, but it deals with Organic Chemistry.
