GCU 2014 Summer

Published

Anybody else going to be applying? I'm a long shot because I'm applying without all my courses completed, they will be done in the Spring.

yes, you are right.. my friend who started at boswell in january was emailed on the 14th, not the 15th... hopefully we all have a wonderful valentine's day!!!!! :)

Yeah, I also was thinking/hoping they would send out decisions on the 14th since the 15th is a Saturday.

Just curious, there is no hold up due to the extension date for the Teas test?

I would not think so... I am confused though, some said that Summer applicants had until the 30th and some said no, that's not true.. Do you know for sure?

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I heard they extended the Teas date till the 30th which in turn extended the Summer application deadline. I didn't know if that would affect whether or not we found out by the 15th. When I emailed the nursing advisor she told me we should know around mid Feb whatever that means.

see, what i heard, was that summer apps had to be in by jan. 15th and that the extension was just for people who would be grandfathered in.. who knows though... it seems like it's always something different with all these counselors.

I really hope there isn't a delay in acceptance notification due to the TEAS.

On another note... is anyone else planning on working while in the program?

"Acceptance results will be sent through email around the 15th of February." -from my counselor..

i am hoping to be able to work a lil bit... like maybe 15 hours a week.. but that would be all. are you planning on working?

Yeah I am. Right now I work two jobs, one of them being in a hospital so I would probably just cut down to that. I have to give my availability a month in advance and it is really hard to swap shifts and calling out is not really an option. I have heard that clinical schedules can change without much notice so that worries me. Some of the other nursing students I work/worked with have had problems or had to quit because of scheduling issues :/

yeah... i am working 2 jobs now too, but will go down to just 1 that is extremely flexible... i have a friend who started at boswell in january and she said the schedule is good, but she is studying like 4-6 hours a day and had to quit her job.. so, i guess it just depends on time management and how well we do it.

hey ryleea1, I applied for the St. Joes summer program. Really excited and anxious to hear back. Your not alone.
