GCU 2014 Summer

Anybody else going to be applying? I'm a long shot because I'm applying without all my courses completed, they will be done in the Spring.

ps: just thought i'd share this lil tidbit.. so, i started volunteering at john c. lincoln this past september. i help in mendy's (which is their peds er) and then i go up to the pediatric unit and entertain patients in the playroom... it is awesome experience, as i want to eventually work in peds. obviously, i am not doing nursing stuff with them, but just being in the environment is cool. plus, if the nurses need help, they ask you. however, i am switching it up now and will volunteer in the nursing unit every other weekend (med surg). my duty will be to help the nurses with fall risk patients.. i trained this past saturday and went into about 24 rooms and talked with patients/made sure bed alarms were on, etc. it was a lil stressful, but a blast!! i went home thinking"i can not wait to be a nurse!!!" i think it will be very good experience, especially before clinicals, plus it will look awesome on a resume. anyway, yeah, i highly recommend volunteering if you can.. it really is fun! :)

Hey everyone, I also applied to Boswell..I'm so anxious to find out!

That is a great idea. I was thinking about looking into volunteering, but wasn't sure where yet. I think that would look great on a resume.

I cannot instant message yet but can you instant message me about the cep profram deadline and information.

bazzingagirl I'm at st. joes and yes, I'm nervous!! But super excited and can't wait to start. jmcampb3 I'm sad you won't be starting till the Fall but good luck! And I plan on working. I'm not in a healthcare setting right now but I work around 20-30 hours a week. I've been able to manage two jobs throughout school going full-time so I'm hoping my time management skills kick in here. But I'm also worried about clinical hours because I know they change on a dime. We will see! Can't wait to meet some of you guys!

My original plan was to do the concurrent program at community but it seemed much more complicated than needed.

Has anyone gotten information on how many applicants there were for each cohort/main campus/etc?
