U.S.A. Arizona

Anybody else going to be applying? I'm a long shot because I'm applying without all my courses completed, they will be done in the Spring.

ebak3r,

Thank you so much for all of the information! That actually is not too bad... I was expecting it to be about $500! The plan is to call around this week for pricing and get everything done next week. Have all of your documents be approved yet on the certified background check site?

I got accepted into the CEP/NAU program starting this summer. Don't know if this will help, but I just went to banner and the prices are reasonable.

I thought you can get blood work done to see if you are immune and if not come back and get the shots.

These vaccinations should have been given when you were little. You just get blood work done to see if your body has the antigen/antibodies. If it shows you have immunity you don't have to get them. If you don't show immunity then you get the shots or you sign a paper saying your body is non responsive. The only 3 shots that have to be renewed are tdap.. Flu.. And tb

Okay because i have a doctor's app. today to go and get blood work done first then i will get the shots if i need to.

jmcampb3: yes... :)

scrubgirl16... congrats on getting into the CEP program and thanks for posting that info for Banner... so far it is the cheapest I have seen!

ebak3r... how long did it take for everything to be verified?

Yay!!! So excited. Posted all my shots as well, in the process of going back for my second tb test and cpr class at the beginning of April!

Has anyone bought shoes? Lol. I also got the opportunity to speak to several nursing students. Looks like were in for a treat. I heard there can be a lot of disorganization especially with the new curriculum. Also, our first block is REALLY easy but second block we are thrown into psych and med surg clinical... since they removed geriatrics from the first block.

Apparently the idea is to make it easier on us but seems like they have some work to do.

I believe they are called danskos. You can get them at nordstrom. Really expensive but I've heard from all my nurse friends they save your feet and are worth the money in the long run.

I bought some of those as well. You can buy them at the nurses store in Arizona Mills Mall for $39.99

Do you guys know if there are any specific requirements for the shoes other than that they be white (material or stitching color for example). I saw a pair of all white nikes with a grey nike symbol on them.. but I am not sure if that will be acceptable. I also was able to 'customize' my favorite pair of Nike frees on the Nike website in all white... so I might just do that since I wear Nike frees to work now & they work great for me.
