Hello Everyone,

I know it is extremely early in the year but, the May deadline will be here before we know it. I wanted to see if there is anyone out there applying for GCU specifically in Tucson but, also in phoenix. I want to hear your experiences with the application process and the new Hesi A2 exam. I am planing on taking my Hesi A2 at the end of March.

look forward to hearing from yall

Gotcha. Thanks!

Amberdawn85, I started my Patho. class at Rio Salado and have a question. Did you just have to read the text book, take a weekly quiz and write an essay? Was there any direction from the instructor? It just seems weird to me. Was your class like that too?

I started it last Monday (7th) and so far that's basically all it is. I've had to email my professor a few times since this is my first online class and had no clue what I was doing.

My professor also has us signed up/logged into the Evolve site and there are study modules to do as well, but they're not graded.. But it's a nice guided way to study. I love it!

That's how mine was. Just use the evolve site and read the book. The book is actually a fun read! It's a super simple class but I just tried to learn what I could from it. Once you get into it a few entire weeks at review of 202 and micro.

Sorry, I shouldn't post while the kids are playing on me. Once you get a few weeks into the course a few entire week are just basic review of 202 and micro .

OK, I feel better then. I am ok with doing the class all by myself but was not used to not having input from instructor.

My instructor was great about replying right away when I had problems. Just put time into the essays and you'll do great!

You will get input from your professor when you submit the quizzes and essays. Once they're graded there is a "feedback" button that pops up.. Click it and you can read what they say about your assignment.

mkane6206 I just finished patho online through Rio. It is fairly straight forward. Every Saturday a quiz and "essay" were due. The essays ranged in length, but generally were easy. I just read the textbook (mostly review from BIO 202&205) and used it as my resource for the essays. It typically only took me two or three hours to write the essay each week. I finished the class with a 99% and it was easier than both BIO 202 and BIO 205 in my opinion. Patho online through Rio is a good option if you are motivated enough to keep up with the reading because the quizzes and essays are pretty self explanatory.

Thanks for the input. How long were your essays?

It just depends on the week... some were much longer than others. My teacher did not enforce the due dates for things so if there was a longer essay due you had a little bit of extra time. I think the shortest one was about 300 words and the longest was a couple thousand if I remember correctly.

I'm a Banner Boswell hopeful! :)
