Published

Hello Everyone,

I know it is extremely early in the year but, the May deadline will be here before we know it. I wanted to see if there is anyone out there applying for GCU specifically in Tucson but, also in phoenix. I want to hear your experiences with the application process and the new Hesi A2 exam. I am planing on taking my Hesi A2 at the end of March.

look forward to hearing from yall

My expected date was 8-12... luckily I called them today... turns out they had a new employee around the time I ordered and they never processed my order!!!!! OMGeeeee how irritating. So they told me my order should be shipping tomorrow or Thursday. . UGH!!!!

I have been waiting for several weeks on my order from scrub hub as well. I called today - last minute and very stressed - to check on the order since they are not open on the weekends. They told me that their vendor sent them the wrong order, and they won't even have my scrubs in until Aug 27th, probably won't be shipped until the 28th. Thank goodness, I found Apparel Pro in Tempe. They carry Landau scrubs, embroidered with the GCU logo. Needless-to-say, I am thankful I have my scrubs today!!! If anyone needs their scrubs, they had quite a few left. I am asking for a refund from ScrubHub.

I'd love to hear more about it but only IF you have the time. :) If not, I totally understand.

How stressful! I'm glad you were able to find a location in town! I got mine Friday. I was worried since I ordered them a while back and really hasn't heard anything until I called...

Well I have definitly been busy. Well the first week has been a little chaotic.....its not very organized but I'm hoping it gets better. We have our first LAB tomorrow so I'm excited to wear my scrubs :-) I hope everyone is having a good week.

OMGEEEEE. . Our week has been crazy and chaotic as well... pretty disorganized and our schedules were changing around... and learning everything that needs to be done... and submitted to Loud Cloud. Ugh.. I've had a constant headache.. lol.. I'm sure it will get better and make more sense soon...

We can do it!!!

I agree! Lots of disorganization and uncertainty about a lot of things. I'm trying to be patient about it, but I also feel that I shouldn't be worried and having to feel like I have to 'remind' professors about things that they should make sure to tell ME! Ugh, thank goodness I've taken many classes online and LC doesn't seem so daunting... Giving it time though. I'm sure it will get better for all; them and us.

Hi jmcampb3, I was looking through this topic and I am still torn between applying at AT Still or GCU main campus. I have about a 3.4 GPA and 3.3 science. What would you suggest? Is it more competitive at AT Still? Thanks!

Hi everyone!

With tomorrow being your first day of nursing school, I just wanted to wish you all a great first block!

From,

Someone who will hopefully be joining you guys as a GCU nursing student very soon !

I tried to PM you and your box is full. so hear is my reply

HI,

Well its a little crazy... I honestly think there is nothing that can prepare you for nursing school right now. LOL all the pre reqs.... mean nothing LOL. The school just started a new curiculum and its all over the place so we are all just getting use to it. Im sure after a couple of weeks we will be on track. The hardest class is Pharmacology. I would recomend buying your text books early or buy some pharm flash cards just to be on top of the vocabulary.

Don't let this scare you, Ive been super busy and frustrated trying to get organized. Ill touch base with you in a couple of weeks. we have our first exam on the 18. :-)

Good luck and I hope you get accepted to

I would describe it very similar to the way scrub girl has described it except that it isn't disorganized at my campus. They have been doing the new curriculum for about two semesters already and seem to have it figured out. But yeah...the rest is true. It is nothing like pre-req's. For one, your work is never finished. You will never have a moment where you are "caught up" and can chill for a couple of days. It's more than a full time job since weekends are spent doing the bulk of work (since weekdays are taken up with classes). The material you are taught is much more interesting than pre-req'a IMO, which makes it stick easier, but it is A LOT!! I cannot emphasize how much information they pour into our minds. My saving grace has been my calendar. I put everything into it..including what pages I plan to read and when. That way I get to physically "check" things off and pace myself in manageable way. I'm using it to "plan ahead" so that I don't end up one weekend with several papers while trying to study for an upcoming test. For instance, I plan to do all the busy work (papers, modules, and such) this weekend for the next two weeks, because I know next weekend I will want to use the whole time to study for my first two exams. (which I am also doing little by little as I go along as well.) With all that said, I love it. It's fun! I love my cohort. Everyone is so sweet and interesting and fun to get to know. I feel like I have known them for months, but it's only been two weeks. It's so crazy that at the end of the very first week, we couldn't remember if it had been one or two weeks since we started...lol.

Anyway, that sums up first impressions of my experience thus far. :)

Thanks you guys!

BabyMamaJenn, how is it here in ABQ? I figured that instead of PM'ing you it would probably be beneficial for future applicants to see what you guys have to say so I hope you don't mind me asking you here!
