GCC Glendale Community College winter/spring 2018

Good morning,

My name is Richard and I applied to GCC for the winter/spring 2018 semester and wanted to start and topic for everyone to discuss.

Do you know the schedule of the alternative program?

I was wondering that too! I looked online and at the course syllabus that I found of GCCs nursing website- and I think one of the classes was on a Wednesday at 1:40pm. The same class was being offered in the morning for the standard program I assumed. But 1:40pm is in the afternoon and not evening so I'm not sure!!

@okinawas if you don't mind me asking what was your teas score and gpa, did you have any prior work experience or CNA?

My TEAS score was 82% and my gpa is 3.3

I'm actually signed up for a CNA class being offered by Red Cross which is starting soon buy I may have to cancel it depending on the nursing schedule at GCC.

Hi there! I'm currently a first semester student at GCC. SO happy to hear you got in! It is an AMAZING program!!! I am actually in the standard program (Monday-Thursday) but I know that the W/E cohort has class on Monday from about 4:30-7:30, Wednesday from 1:40-8ish, and a 12 hour clinical on Saturday from 6am-6pm. Hope that helps!

No problem! I'm not kidding when I say that our class is like family. We are all SO incredibly close and SUCH good friends. Nobody will know what you're going through except for the 20 people in your class. Buckle up because it's going to be a wild ride! Lol. :)

Hello everyone! I just got told today that a seat had become available for me for the alternative weekend/evening RN program for GCC in California. I sent in my intent form right away! Is anyone else going to be attending the alternative program in CA for the winter/spring 2018 semester?

BTW, I had been rejected from LAPC, LAVC, LACC, LACCN&AH, COC and originally GCC before I finally got a spot through the wait list.

Please don't give up hope and keep applying and reapplying! Good luck to you all.

Oh I have a question for those of you who have already completed the fingerprint and drug test.

I went to the castlebranch site and paid the $111.0 (PRICY!) fee for my package but they ask me for payment for both drug and fingerprints when I made my appointments. I just want to make sure that they are already paid for with the $111.0 and I'm not getting charged extra

I did the fingerprinting and when they asked me for a payment I told them that it should have already been paid for, then I handed the woman the sheet I printed from the website. I'll be doing the drug screening tomorrow- but it should have all been included in your package! If you paid anything else I'd call them!
