Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing Spring 2020

Published

Hello everyone! I'm applying for the Texas Tech accelerated nursing program in spring 2020. And I was wondering if anyone else was applying as well? My stats are: I have an overall 3.51 GPA and a 3.7 science GPA, and I am a trained phlebotomist with 200 clinical hours (hopefully this is a strong enough application). I have not taken the HESI, but I will take it next month, and I will be starting the application process on July 1st when it opens.

Anyways, I figured I should start a thread to see how many people are interested in applying right now!

Hello ? im also applying to Texas Tech July 1st! I am retaking Anatomy and Physiology 2 rt now and I’m taking my HESI in August! I’m a CNA at a nursing home in town:)

Good luck to you on your HESI! I'm so nervous to take mine! ?

Hello!! I am applying for spring 2020 as well! I just took my HESI last Friday. I was really nervous too but It wasn’t terrible.

Hello! how many sections were you tested? Was it just Math, A&P, Biology, Chemistry, Vocab and Reading? I'm most nervous to be tested on chemistry since it's my worst subject :(

I was tested on grammar, reading comprehension, math, vocab, biology, chemistry, A&P and then there was a personality section and a learning style section. I personally didn’t find the chemistry to be bad at all. However, I did have some pretty specific questions on my A&P section.

Thank you, Autumn! I'm feeling a lot more confident to take the exam now ?

Does anyone remember what the minimum score you can get on the HESI? Was it 75% or 80%?

@natrose27 you will do great!! I was told to get an 80 to be competitive.

So I got an 85% overall score on my HESI but a 74% in grammar and 76% in math. ?

I don't know if it's worth applying with those two low scores...

I did, however, score 92% in Bio, 88% in Anatomy, 88% in Chemistry, 92% in Reading and 88% in Vocabulary...

What do you guys think? Should I still apply for Spring 2020 or retake the HESI and apply for Fall 2020?
