Just thought I would start a new thread about Galen. Anything and everything Galen can be posted here! Please feel free to share, or ask questions!
I am still waiting on my acceptance letter, and am going crazy:bugeyes:! Hopefully, I will be starting July 27th.
Thanks Wildcat! Is there a place to put lunches, or will I need to pack mine around with me?
Also, did I read in an earlier post of yours that you'd gotten a job in Suburban's Nicu?
When I was there they had one fridge to put things in, so you could imagine how stuffed it was. Your best bet is to bring something that doesn't require refrigeration. But, they might have more than one now. I alternated between bringing something and going out. There is a WONDERFUL Thai place on Brownsboro Rd not too far from the school, just take Zorn up to Brownsboro and turn right. It's a little way down, past Krogers on the right. It's next to Subway.
Yeah, I had gotten an RNA position in Suburban's NICU. PM me about it if you want preemiemama.
Hey tinam77 and michelleb72! I've already got my test results back. I got a 187. I meant that I still haven't heard anything about if I've been accepted or not. I'm sorry! I wasn't very clear about what I meant...lol. When did you girls take your test? Are you wanting to start in July too?
hey lasdrs I took my test March 12th got a 188. I got a phone call from Galen saying that I was accepted around the end of March. I told them I didn't want to start until the July class and was told they would just hold my acceptance packet and mail it the middle of May. I haven't seen it yet so I called this afternoon to see where mine is. I left a message but haven't heard back. I will let you know what I find out. Maybe you should call too. I would think you would have heard by now. GOOD LUCK!
I am wanting to go days in July. Congrats michelle on getting accepted! :) I called Allida Williams last Tuesday and she told me that the letters were being sent out in groups and that I would hear something within a week or week and a half. The same thing happened to acorne when she called. We've decided that maybe it has something to do with when we took our test. I don't know. I'm just starting to get really worried!! 1stLady2 and preemiemama called and Allida just told them over the phone that they were accepted. I don't want to call again and keep bugging her, but if I still haven't heard anything by the end of this week, then I may just call again. I'm driving myself crazy with this...lol!!!

Veggies are wonderful, cushy, lightweight, easy on the feet shoes. Getting your books through amazon.com, ebay, or even another student is MUCH cheaper than edmap. I got mine through barnes and nobles and got to use my discount card on all of them. I would HIGHLY suggest a rolling bookbag, suitcase. Trust me on this. When you see the size of the med/surg book you will understand, actually the size of MOST of your nursing books
Also, unless things have changed drastically in a year there are no lockers so you'll need to carry all the books for the day in your book bag. Ms. Lanman said one time she thought we all looked like we were student flight attendents LOL. Also, you do not need to get an expensive stethoscope right now, just one that works. Save the expensive one for a graduation present. I still have my uniforms if anyone is of the larger persuation like size 22W-24W. Top, pants, and Lab Coat. I was going to donate them to the schools uniform return, but if anyone here needs them and they are the right size.
Hope this helps some. Get the cheapest, most comfortable shoes you can. Save the expensive stuff for later.
