Just thought I would start a new thread about Galen. Anything and everything Galen can be posted here! Please feel free to share, or ask questions!
I am still waiting on my acceptance letter, and am going crazy:bugeyes:! Hopefully, I will be starting July 27th.
acorne,i've always struggled with math too, which is why i've started early. i started with dosage calculations made incredibly easy. i just checked it out from the library. most of the problems are really easy. the site i like the best (so far) is http://www.msumedcalc.com/ivpush.html because it gives you a lot of practice questions.
here are a couple more sites:
the test and calc site is a good one to use. i go to galen and thats one of them that they give for us to practice on. goodluck!
Hey there everyone I am new to this site but I am sooo glad I found it. I have been accepted and start July 27th as well. I am going to be in the evening class though. I have a full time day job, so evenings was my only option. I must say I am a little jealous wish I could do the full time day class just doesn't work for me though. Anyway, GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!!!!
You got your packet...How cool is that!!! I sent Alida Williams an email this morning about mine. I tested back in March but didn't want to start until July so she told me she would just hold my acceptance letter until the middle of May. I want to make sure I didn't slip through the cracks or something. I am also excited to get started with the admissions process!
Welcome Michelleb72 and Congratulations on your acceptance:yeah:!! Even though you'll be going in the evening, I'm quite sure we can still share experiences:)
ALRIGHT Preemiemama!!!! I told you there is a lot to go over and it brings about a different avenue of questions:) But like I said, I meet with financial aid on tomorrow. I went Friday and had my physical done, my TB test(part 1), and my titers drawn. I am trying to get everything done because I will be going on vacation in a couple of weeks and deadlines are not like they say, but I will definitely have all my stuff together.
Good luck to us all ladies!!! We definitely deserve this:D!!!
I'll be calling Financial Aid and my Dr. office tommorow to schedule my appointments. I want everything done and out of the way. I hate waiting 'til the last minute to do anything. Will any of you be taking the Cpr class Galen offers? I wonder just how much money we'll be out for this first Qtr., including start up costs? Let's see:
What kind of shoes are you getting Preemiemama? I have some all white Nike Shox that may have some gray, but not much that I purchased. Do you think that will be fine? I haven't heard anyone say anything much about shoes. Also, have you thought about a backpack? Are you doing a rolling one or standard?

I want to get the leather ALL white Shox (which I think are the only Shox allowed). I have a pair of white mesh with silver, and I LOVE them! A former student suggested Veggies, which are like crocs, and only cost around $20.00. I may go that route, I don't know. I despise crocs, but if they make my piggies happy, then I'll get over it!
I bought a navy Jansport on Ebay for $36.00 plus 9.95 shipping. Here's the link: http://jansport.com/js_product_detail.php?cid=14&pid=TN89
Also, I looked up the books that we will need (***IF*** the books for 1st Qtr. stay the same as the present 1st Qtr. enrolled now). If we buy them through Edmap, the cost will be around 450.00 before tax, but if we go through Half.com, amazon, or Ebay, the cost will be around $268.00 before shipping.
I had to look at my Shox again because I bought them like in January and I never wore them. They look like they will be fine. I don't know. I'm going to take a pic of them on my phone and take it with me tomorrow...lolololol. Can't be too sure. Thanks for the link on the backpack. I was looking at the exact same one on ebags.com. It is a little more expensive than this one. So, I will definitely be getting this one.
We are too much alike. I did the exact same thing you did with the books. I went through and calculated the totals so I could compare the two. Hopefully nothing changes. We'll see on July 6th. I'm so excited to finally feel like I'm getting somewhere. I am sooooooo ready for this!!!
