  1. leeroijaewon I think it varies from person to person but alot of times i think the student loans and pell grant amount, if you qualify, cover the entire cost of the program. I have it set up where my payments don't start until after I graduate from the program. I pay nothing while I am in school. Hope this helps and good luck at your appt.
  2. Hey acorne. Sonya is right. The medical stuff is the most complicated. I have already been to my doctor twice and have to go back the first of July to finish things up. If you are going to do the Hep B series you may want to get started with that ASAP. It's a series of 3 shots. Shot 1 is done now then you have to wait a month for shot 2 and then 5 months for shot 3. I assume Galen will be ok with having just shots 1 and 2 since there is no way we can have the third done before classes start. Don't worry acorne it will all work out. The financial aid appt was a breeze by the way. Hey everyone who is still on for Mike Linnings?
  3. Hey 1stlady I asked that question at my financial aid appt and was told they have to be all white. I asked about the shox that you are talking about in paticular. I found a pair of cool Nike's, the old classic style, at Shoe Carnival for $60. They have a very thin light gray stripe in the sole that is barely noticeable. I think they will be ok.
  4. Hey Kathy I sent a friends request on face book to you Michelle so don't delete me. lol That was a cool idea!
  5. lasdrs I think I would call again a few times on Monday. If you don't get her maybe you should tell whoever answers the phone your situation. They really seem to be helpful whenever I have called. You are going to worry yourself sick.
  6. preemiemama we have issues when it comes to these smilies!:lol_hitti:rckn:
  7. :grpwlcm: INparrothead! You will find alot of helpful / supportive info in this group.
  8. Ok acorne the financial aid appt was a breeze! The stafford loan is the way to go it does work like I explained and you don't make any payments until after you graduate. They have a list of about 6 different lenders to choose from.
  9. Hey acorne I have my financial aid appt today at 2 so I will post what I find out. I did a little research on the stafford loan which seems to be the best way to go. The interest rate is around 6% and they let you extend it for 10 years if you want. From what I have read if you borrow 15k you are looking at a payment of around 180 a month for 10 years. PLEASE don't hold me to this I haven't verified it yet and I could be misunderstanding how it works. I will be more clear on it after my appt. OK everyone lets shoot for Sat. June 6th at 5 at Mike Linnings. We will see how things are looking for everyone and finalize middle of next week.:stdnrsrck:
  10. That sounds good preemiemama. How about we all try something for next Saturday (June 6th) maybe around 5. Hey everyone post what is good for you!
  11. Hey lasdrs double check that cpr date I have it down for Wednesday July 22, 5-9pm. It may be because I am doing nights (probably is). Ok everyone, now that we know we have been accepted (lasdrs you had us all holding our breath since you were the last one:eek: ) I say we have a celebration dinner. I am not sure of everyone's schedules but a Saturday afternoon / evening would work for me.
  12. Look in your acceptance packet there are 2 forms that you need to send back. The one saying you will be attending the start date that was offered to you and there is also one for the cpr registration. I faxed both of mine in today. The financial aid packet tells you what you need to take for the appt. 2008 tax return and w-2's, there is a stafford form you have to fill out and submit online, etc.
  13. WE TOLD YOU LASDRS!!!!!!:ancong!: Ok, I so love these smilies! The only bummer here is I am the only one attending nights:o It's ok though we all have the same goal! Hey preemiemama that's a great idea we should all try to meet up for dinner sometime. How cool would it be for all of us to meet. I am sure we are all full of excitement and anxiety at the same time.*wine So, I think everyone on this thread has gotten their acceptance letters now on to the fun stuff. I have my financial aid appt on Thursday. If all goes well with that I will concentrate on the medical stuff that we need to have done. Is anyone taking the cpr class that Galen is giving? I registered for it today.
  14. Thanks slmcdo05 I will be happy with whatever help I can get. I just hope I can get a loan for the full amount that I will owe. We are going to have enough start up expenses. I think it is cool that you and your husband are doing this together. 1stLady let us know about those shox. I love them too.
  15. There is so much to do and like you all I am worried about the financial part. slmcdo05 you seem to know about the pell grant and financial part of all of this. I assume the higher your EFC the less amount of money you qualify for. I have a feeling my EFC of 3908 is a little high. Do you know if there is a minimum grant amount? This can be confusing since from what I have read the EFC is what we are expected to contribute per year. If thats the case the numbers just don't add up. Also, I wouldn't worry to much about the credit aspect of the background check in this economy I am sure there are alot of people who have had credit issues. By the way THANKS for all of your input! WE WILL ALL DO GREAT!!!!
