Getting ready to take a big chunk of prereqs this summer. Here is what I have....
Summer A
College Algebra
A&P 1
Summer B
Elements of Chem (need for micro)
Humanities (undecided)
What do you think? Any suggestions welcome.
If you made it in this year, how many points did you have?
For those of you nurses who have previously applied to Santa Fe and got in, what do the accpetance letters look like? Is it in a standard envelope saying you have been accepted and a bigger package follows, or does it all come together? I'm just anxious and want to know what I'm looking for in the mail.

I have a friend who graduated from the nursing program last Spring and we talked about this back in April. She told me her acceptance letter was "big" and had all kinds of info in it with stuff she had to do. I didn't ask but I'm sure it was info regarding immunizations, background check, etc. I think you also get the code of conduct book with all the information about the program (this can also be found on the ASN homepage if you haven't taken a peek at it yet). Things may have changed, but this is what I was told by a former student.
thanks. gives all of us a better idea of "what to expect"........ i had an idea that it would be big, bc i just got a big envelope for the radiology program at sjrsc for st. augustine's program and i was accepted, and it included all of the immunization/tieter's, bg check stuff, but it is plan b, not plan a......... come on plan a!!!!
i wish i didn't know anything about the acceptance letters because now if i see a small envelope i'll assume the worst and be bummed before i even open it up. i was looking forward to the excitement of actually opening the letter not knowing what i was going to read. like a final drumroll after more than a year and a half of working so hard for this.
the anticipation is absolutely killing me! i must admit, i did the silliest thing this evening. i was at wal-mart earlier and happened to pass by the scrubs. i noticed they had an unusually large amount of sf royal blue tops and bottoms. the thought of being in nursing school and wearing those scrubs got me so excited, anxious, full of hope and dread (about not being accepted) i almost started crying. i then proceeded to pick out a pair and tried them on, just to see how i would look in them. i felt like such a weirdo!
good luck everyone, i know how hard we have worked to get here. i hope we all get good news!
awww. no weirdo... i mean, really we've worked sooooooo hard to get to where we are..this so exciting for all of us. we deserve to be excited! i really would of prob done the same thing in wal-mart. lol!!!! i mean lately it has been all i've thought about. and to think i promised my son a care-free day at the beach tomorrow. maybe surfing and some sun will help me relax some.....???? i do need something to get my mind of this tho., at least a tad...... we're at the end and it's killing me too.. i feel your pain!
i wish you and everyone much luck! i hope we all make it:)
So..............if the health science office anticipated sending letters out yesterday, that means, if you live in Gainesville, you should get your letter today. Mail is usually next day in the same city. Or if you got accepted, which requires the 'big package,' it may take an extra day or two.
Too much analyzing, I know but I'll be alright. As soon as my kids get up we have swim lessons, baseball practice, volunteer work, and I have a DEP 2004 test today.
My husband said he would get the mail for me today, but he doesn't get home until 9:30 tonight. I don't know if I can wait that long.
Good Luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!
I too have been wondering if those of us in town would get our letters the day after they went out. Does anyone know if they were indeed mailed out yesterday? Health Sciences page still says "[...] anticipates mailing acceptance letters on June 13th."
The anticipation is KILLING me! :redbeathe I might have to call up there for confirmation!
Oh, and according to the HS homepage, Santa Fe will soon be offering an RN to BSN program! Exciting!!
LittleBirdie-
At the advisement session, I went to, we were told that this fall semester would start the RN-BSN program. That is exciting bc I know that UF is not taking any apps for that program right now. I probably won't do Santa Fe's program bc I plan to work as an RN and do my RN-BSN online.
The suffering is almost at an end. I feel almost calm...........if I get in yay! If I don't I can improve my chances by 20 pts, next year, which will put me in the 90-93 range. Although, it cost an extra $1000 of classes:uhoh3:.
So so so glad that I am not going through this wait alone!! I can't remember being this nervous since I was waiting to hear if I got into UF for my undergrad 7 years ago. I was at a soccer game and during half time word had gotten around that the notifications were up.... thankfully UF let you logon to your computer to find out and there was none of this snail mail business!
I've become a little nutso over this whole waiting process so I was trying to think of ways to improve my luck. I've been just kind of kicking a ball around for the past few days since I was playing soccer the night I got into UF.... crazy I know haha. I'm just looking for all the luck I can get at this point.
Also will you all please, please post when you get anything (good or bad)?? I am out in California and won't be back until wed. morning. I gave a friend a key but I don't want to make him compulsively check my mail unless I at least know people have actually received letters.
The wait is almost over!!!!! Good Luck!!!!

Ugh!!!!! My strategy for the waiting game was to avoid this site, but I couldn't resist a peek. I wish I had been here to share the emotional roller coaster. I've also been taking dev psych, it's the 6 wk class and it's pretty rough. I'm right there with you guys after reading these posts I just got a huge adrenaline rush. Now I find out we won't have to wait as long. I'm not ready to know yet...........ok I'm kidding, I do want to know. 420 people, 140 seats? Not good for me unless they all scored lower than my measley 72 points!!!!
LittleBirdie- I know what you mean with the classes. I got a stinkin' B+ in psych, a B in stats, and my eng 1 class was AP; that's consider an automatic B so my GPA didn't get the full points either.
I'm ok with waiting another year, but it would be so nice to just get accepted now. Good luck to everyone and definately when you get your acceptance letters could you recap what your points were?
