Future Fall '08 El Centro/North Lake Students

Published

Well the official application filing period for Fall 08 is at the end of this month. Just curious to see who is applying and try to get a support group going because I know the waiting process can be tedious! :icon_roll

I more than likely will apply during the late filing period (hopefully), but I also am applying to the El Centro/Methodist Hospital Program, in which the official filing period doesn't end until the end of May. So I will apply to both, its the same program but one is free. ;)

Has everyone taken the Hesi? And if you plan to attend at El Centro, have you checked out the new building? Also, what campus is your first pick North Lake or El Centro?

Oh tomorrow! Wonder if I will be able to sleep tonight and then wait for the mail without going insane. I feel so silly being so excited and nervous at the same time. I can't believe the GPA is that low! What in the world happened? Mine is not perfect by any means. But, then again nothing is "official" until I have that letter in my hands. Take care everyone.

GOT THE BIG ENVELOPE!!! and it's alllll goood...:D My HR was really climbing as I drove through my parking lot. :redbeathe

Went in with a 4-oh, but still needing Micro and Speech. Heard so many horror stories about the application process, I was worried there'd be something administratively wrong with my package...Something I wasn't even expecting. Never took the orientation class.

Even paid a premium to take my HC Provider CPR two nights before deadline, but the package has a flyer and notice for people not to forget their CPR class before first day.:banghead: 'least I got it outta the way.

The program booklet does have quite a few things blown outta proportion to how they actually operate and select.

Pediatric/Neonatal ICU...here I come!!!

I also got the big envelope but it was a reject letter. They returned all my application documents. Only a little mistake, they put me out of the admission. My prerequisite GPA is 3.6 with 12 hrs support courses of 4.0. The support courses I have completed includes both A & P I and Microbiology. I am really looking for mercy to get in but I do not think it will happen.

I received the reject letter today. The reason is I did not include my master degree college transcript. Kanora said the announcement for late application for Fall 08 will be made around May 15. Congratulation to all who got in.

Wow how did they even figure that one out? Yeah I'm hoping to apply for the late application period also but the application for Methodist/El Centro program doesn't end until May 20th, I would like to have two choices to choose from. I hope everyone gets in!!! Yay! I hope to have a pretty good chance getting in also considering I have a high GPA in my support courses too. GOOD LUCK!! :nuke:

Yes,the lowest ranking is 2.61 pre-requisite grade points with 17 support credit hrs (ave 2.41) for El- Centro Campus; 2.54 pre-requisite points for 17 supports credits hrs ( ave 2.94) for Northlake Campus. I think you will be O.K. if your applications information is completed.

What?? That is CRAZY!!! lol So much lower than previous semesters!!! I hope I'm a shoe-in I have a 4.0. :p

Yeah, didn't consider that "big envelope". Some girl-friends from work were sharing in my anxiety and they explained the whole big/small envelopes thing.

Sorry to hear about your big envelope. That's exactly what I was sweatin' about...That one little admin mistake that kills the whole deal. I've been an admin asst. for more than 10 years and I still worry about those little "what did I miss???'s".

My sincere condolences on your miss...

congratulations to all who got in or are gettin' in!!

I'm in at NL...

What can we buy NOW before the avalanche of expenses heads our way?!!??

If any Spring 08 are here, can you let us know what your schedule (class and clinical) is like? I know it could change/be different - just looking for an example or two....

THANKS!

How to apply Methodist/ El Centro??

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Congrats to everyone who got in!

Before the program started, I tried to get my stethoscope, penlight, various study guides, and the normal school supplies. If you have long hair, you might want to consider making sure you have enough ponytail holders and hairspray. I bought black socks, but they made my feet sweat too much, so now I just wear normal white socks. Also, I bought my shoes and scrub pants ahead of time. The scrub pants offered through the school aren't the most flattering in the world.

Keep your eyes open for sales over the summer and again, Congrats!!
