This could be fun what are some of the funniest names you have heard out at triage?

I had a teenage mom that came in I asked what the newborns name was, she smiled and state "Sparkles". I kept a straight face and thought to myself what a loving mother to give her daughter a stripper name.

That reminds me of the episode of "Mad About You" where Jamie has the baby. Paul meets Bruce Willis at the hospital and mentions that they don't even have a name picked out - what did Bruce name his kids? Of course, the answer, "Rumor, Scout, and Tullulah Belle," got quite a laugh. (If you haven't seen this episode, check it out, it was hysterical!)

Of course, they named their child "Mabel" instead and "got a lot of heat for that" as they mentioned for the rest of the series.

We had a resident named Electron. His brother was Neutron and sister Nucleus. His family was from Africa. He would get VERY mad when someone made fun of his name!

:chuckle It's Tallulah...that's how Tallulah Bankhead's name was spelled, she was a great favorite of my mom's.

Here in the ChiTown suburb, I had a pt whose nephew was first name was Ryno, middle name Wrigley...

I have seen two Sparkles, on the same day no less. I have also seen a Heavenleigh.

One time when I was in a bar with my friends (I was much younger then) I told some guy who was bothering me that my name was Genny-->short for Generic. I told him my parents wanted me to pick out my own name when I was an adult. My friends totally backed me up. He bought it hook, line and sinker. Ha ha, what an idiot.:rotfl:

I've got a classmate in a nursing pre-req class named

Crystal Rainwater.

And then my cousin named her kids:

Summer Dawn (I like this for a girl), Parker and Warner. Their last name was two syllables, also ending in -er. I told my cousin that she had a thing about "-er".....:chuckle

A couple named their baby chlamydia- thinking it was just a pretty sounding name. Like a flower- poor kid not just for having a name like that but a couple of insanely stupid parents.

My cousin named her daughter Asia - which is pretty odd. I personally love the idea of naming kids what you want to name them but give them an option later on. Like instead of naming someone Debbie- name them deborah and call them debbie from the start. Options are important- speaking from someone who has a sister named Ginger- Virginia saved her a few times professionally. Hard to a Ginger or a suzie as seriously.

This name is cute to me. In it's own way. My daughters names are Nyari and Nyasia. pronounced Ny-are-ree and Ny-A-sia

I've heard that Chlamydia story- It must be an urban legend. Asia is actually kind of pretty. I've also heard of Paris (hasn't everyone), Londyn, and America. My sister-in-laws sister named her daughter Liberty, Libby for short. Not bad. Better than ODESSA.
