Full length modest scrub skirts

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

I've recently become Pentecostal, and I've been looking for full length scrub skirts with no slits. I've found the butter soft skirt on uniform advantage, but they've run out of white and they said they didn't have a definitive date of when they would restock. I've also been looking at white swan fundamentals skirt, but I don't know how long it would be on me (I'm 5'5" and 300 pounds, so I think I would need a 3x or 4x). I've made my own skirt for work, but it definitely looks sad and home made :scrying:! I'd prefer a full length skirt, but mid calf might work as well. I don't know what my school may require yet (I still need to get approval to wear the skirts at school).

Also, has anybody had an issue with getting schools to approve skirts instead of slacks as a uniform? I wore slack for the first year, but I've converted during summer break!:x3: Hopefully there's no issue.

Where does the skirt fall on you?

I've been thinking of trying these skirts out, but I am afraid they will be too long on me. I am 5' 4". I wish they came in different lengths. Surely they realize we are not all the same height and one length does not fit all!

I like to make sure my pants and skirts cover my gut, so I wear them at my natural waist.

The skirt doesn't completely cover my feet when barefoot and you can completely see my pretty white shoes but no ankle! These skirts are perfect for somebody who hates showing leg (I have a tattoo on my ankle from before I was saved and it's so hard to cover up!)

Not sure where you live, but even though I am not Pentecostal, I live where the religion has a common presence.

I would be realistic...slits on skirts are not there for fashion...they are there to keep the seams from splitting when you walk. While there is nothing wrong with full length, we have several church members at work and I have never seen one...ever...wear a full length skirt.

Clarify with your Pastor what is required...the scripture only requires that your dress be modest and is distinctly different from the dress of men...we are kind of out of the age where ankles are scandalous.

It's not about ankles being scandalous. Right now I wear a mid-calf skirt to work and I have to do so much work with pantyhose/long socks in the morning just to cover my ankles and legs.

I also think my chubby ankles and fat calves aren't much to look at and I like them covered as much as possible, and in the hospital environment I want my legs as covered as possible.

I do have one skirt with a slit in it and I hate how it lends itself to a little peep show. I also find that slits like to rip on me...so it totally defeats the purpose of not ripping the skirt! Maybe it works for other women, not so much for me.

I did find my perfect full length skirts and I'm super excited about them. Thank you all for your help and God bless you all!

well i like the floor length maxie, as i do not like the look of shoes and knee high socjs a shorter skirt would show, and deliver me from ever wearing panty hose again ....... i find the skirts cooler than my scrub pants.....it is not so much a religious reason for me, but a comfort issue, but like the vintage look

I am also Pentecostal and wear skirts exclusively. My nursing school only allowed the Landau white skirt http://www.landau.com/product/detail/2226_a-line-skirt. I'm only 5'4" so it came to a few inches below my knee. And I wore a slip so I never had to worry about a peep show but if I had time I could have sewn it closed without any problems walking. I want to try the butter soft though, they look fabulous!

Pentecostal Apostolic RN here!!

I buy my skirts from Bettencourt Manufacturing Inc - www.TrendUniforms.com - Wholesale Scrubs. They are relatively cheap only costing $7-$9 plus shipping. They come in xs-5x.

Im 5' 2" 215# and I buy the 2-3x skirts. They are all very comfortable and serve their purpose. I have even been tempted to wear them to church when brand new, lol. Unfortunately they but do come with slits. All my skirts fall mid-calf when standing and cover my knees and more when I sit. Plus I wear them hiked way up above my belly button so if a person wore them normally they would cover more. For me, I don't have a problem feeling or looking modest in them in the least. If I were concerned I could hand stitch the slits if I had too.

I started a FB group for Apostolic nurses/students and healthcare in general. Its really small but I wanted to connect with others smarty skirts in health care. Join it and tell me you saw my post here.
