FSW Spring 2018

Published

It's a bit early, I know. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those looking down the road planning to apply to FSW this fall for the spring 2018 program start..

I'm planning on applying to the Charlotte campus for the Evening/Weekend (ANEW) schedule format.

What campus are you planning on applying to?

What classes are you trying to finish up before applying in Sept/Oct?

What program schedule format will you be choosing (Daytime or evening/weekend)?

Did you take the TEAS VI exam and how did you do?

I look forward to the discussion over the next few months!!

Yeah i already got my CPR certification done over the summer. So I'm getting my immunization records ready and my physical. I already gotten my PPD just need to get the records for it.

Did you complete the certification through red cross? If so, did you get certified in first aid & CPR or just CPR?

It seems like the CPR must be through the American Heart Association and include BLS.

The "health report", I have been waiting on because I think FSW will be providing a form to be filled out by the physician (I thought I read that somewhere but now I can't find it...

I wonder how recent the PPD must be? Probably within the last year?

Oh that's great then!

I can't wait to get the final paperwork and finish everything up!

Hi guys. Received great news that a seat opened for Lee campus traditional. I made an appointment for the drug test & fingerprinting. I'm so excited! Now I have to figure out where I'm going to live  I applied for on campus housing, but if anyone is looking for roommates feel free to reach out.

That's Awesome! Congratulations!

Ya I'm also curious how recent everything needs to be. I got all my immunizations a little over a year ago when I initially applied to EMT school, before deciding to become a nurse. I'm guessing that I will have to get poked again since it's been so long..

That's awesome. You are ahead of the game. I'm going to schedule mine in the next day or two. I'm kind of excited about doing the first aide/CPR class. It's so easy to forget proper procedure and skills for first response..

I've decided to wait until we get the packet information during phase III, even though I want to get everything done now. I'm going to schedule the physical for a later date.

Does anyone plan on getting a rolling book-bag? Is it needed? I tend to see lots of nursing students with rolling book-bags.

I am getting a rolling book bag for sure. I heard the heavy books are hard on your back if you don't. Also, I talked to Chris on Monday and he said to go to Castlebranch through the same email we got accepted from and purchase the medical document manager. It is $30 and has everything we need to do next on it. I have already got started on mine since I am trying to divide up the costs of this as best I can. It'll all be included in the orientation packet that'll be given out Tuesday. I am just a head start kind of person and figured I'd let ya'll know.
